For those wondering what henchman needs what item to finish their chapter one quest, I put this together to help out.

Tomi: Forged Documents. They are found in the Wagon Repair Shop in the Beggar's Nest. Result: Ring of the Rogue +1. +1 dex, +1 disarm trap, & +1 unlock

Daelan: Brooch. Found in the Chest on the Bloodsaber Pirateship in the Docks District. Result: Talisman of the Uthgardt +1. +1 str & fearless.

Boddyknock: Leaven Bread Recipe. Found in a Barracaded House in the Beggar's Nest. Result: Ring of the Laevan +1. +1 charisma & +1 regen rate.

Grimgnaw: Silver Ring. Found in the Blacklake: No Man's Land section, in an abandoned house. Result: Amulet of the Long Death +1. +1 con & +5 spell resistance.

Linu: Chalice of Moonbow. Found on the second floor in Melderan's Mansion in the Blacklake District. Result: Necklace of the Elf +1. +1 Dex/Darkvision.

Sharwyn: Celestial Elixer. Found in the Bedroom of Lady Tanglebrook's Estate. Result: Performer's Belt. +1 charisma, +1perform, and +1 persuade.

Yes, you can get all these items. Also, you can level up a henchman to a level below you by asking. Of the Henchmen, Tomi, Daelan, and Sharwyn are the only ones that show a change of appearance so far (Daelan looks meaner, Tomi looks cool, and Sharwyn is the only person in the game that can make +1 leather look good ).

Have you ever tried playing a female human of the slimmer body type, and given her simple leather or chain mail? It's a wonder her hip sway doesn't split open locked chests as she passes by. My wife and I thought it was hilarious.

No it's not, but if you don't come across the items in Chapter One you can't get them later, can you? I haven't completed the game but I thought you were kept out of Neverwinter for the rest of the chapters...

"Henchmen Quests: Each available henchmen has a quest for you in chapter 1. You should talk to their about their story - you may only hear the full story once you have reached level 6 or higher (you will get one portion of the story for each level you achieve above level 3) To complete these quests you must hire each of them as your henchman and speak to them about their story all three times. You will then be required to give each of them an item found somewhere in Neverwinter - see the items marked 'Item Location' in the district walkthroughs below. Note that these quests must be completed before you go with Aribeth to the cure ritual."

I'm pretty sure I got at least a couple of items after chapter one off various henchmen.

Thats because their quests continue through the game, but the only way to get them to continue after Chapter one is to finish the first part of their quests before finishing the chapter.

For those who have made it to chapter 2, are all the henchmen available in chapter2? Or is only the one you take with you into Helm's Hold available?

I thought I'd ask as I have not progressed to chapter 2 as I am busy solving all my unfinished quests in Chapter One.

All henchmen are available, and have new quests, in chapter 2 and 3. You have to do the previous chapters quest to get the new one.
