You're also running a stolen copy of the game. If I were you, I wouldn't post your questions here. Right now the matter has been referred to the site owner, and I don't think he'd look too kindly upon your continued quest for answers that are in the manual people pay for.

Your post let's me to guess you're quite capable to lose the manual... I only wonder how you have managetd to keep CD :D Or, on the other hand, can you ever read? Well, you can, i guess, because it's hard to use keyboard otherwise. No offense mentioned, however, begging pardon if you've taken it stoo near to heart ;)
If seriously and why the text above, have you noted the button marked "Search" or field (right side, almost at the bottom of page) labeled like "search this forum" or so? Put "spear" or "mace" or "staff" here and you'll get all opinions ever been posted on this board.
( Hope that Fable isn't right and all you in fact are going for are opinions of experienced players, aren't you? :D )

P.S. Sorry, i saw the "Spells" thread with your admission just now. I fear you'll have no welcome on this board, it might be wiser to turn elsewhere :(

right now, everyone is beginning to defect to nwn, since it is a really nice game, i shall too, but you guys all know why...

i follow the cheese....

but lore, fable, and a few others still stay here, since to put it bluntly, mw is the direct heir to daggerfall, a game that truely meant

"go for a whole frigging world, my poor, slaving, twitching developers!!! I dont care that it cant be done!!!"

they tried to cram a whole world into a single cd rom, and what drew us was the reaching for excellence that no other game even remotely had the courage to go for...daggerfall and mw are both examples of what could be unkindly called meglomania and to us we call divinely inspired, much like the great artists in the past, the folks at beth KNEW what they wanted wasnt possible, then they went ahead and did it...

i plan to play mw for a long time yet, even after i get nwn, because the scope of the developers vision is truely breathtaking.

now what does this have to do with spears and blunt???nothing, but it does explain why i, fable, and lore all think you stink, super t.....

anf it compounds the error to ask questions in possibly the best forum for games in business now...where people are treated well, and will not be flamed or called dumb names even when their questions are knee biters....

the common thing that holds this forum together is love of the game, and it cheapens the fun we have communicating with other affectectionados when we find a pirate in our midst....

who wont even have the decency to pay fair value to the very hard working families of the poor developers who do work this good...

hey i am in it, myself, and having done a little developing, and gotten out as fast as i could make tracks...have a lot of respect for people who do this crap day in day out...

sorry for the long really off topic fable...

Well said, UserUnfriendly. While it was a long post-I think it had lots of important stuff in there.

However, I am not going to turn to nwn. I was unimpressed with the game when I watched it being played at my brother's friend's house. I think the only reason to play that game is through multi-player. The main problem is: is that they try to take the style of Baldurs Gate but you have no party! All you have is yourself and 1 other person-a minion. I think this is the style of Diablo2. But thats my opinion. :p

Eh. I beat NWN this weekend. On the whole, I'm singularly unimpressed with the single player campaign as it stands. I hold out a little bit of hope that user created single player modules will make it worthwhile in the end, though. I expected more from a game in development as long as NWN.

On the brighter side, my copy of warcraft III arrived this morning and that one looks to live up to the anticipation ("Me no sound like Yoda. Do I?")

UU, I'd take a break from MW for a while and then come back to it when folks start turning out mods of size and substance. I think there's a lot of life left in MW, but it's going to take time for it to happen.
