Too Easy?

Hey,
[Possible Spoilers]
is it just me or has the game gotten really easy? I just finished Watchers Keep and Demegorogon was simplistic. I defeated him on my first try. I don't even think he damaged my caracters. I am off to kill some more Bhaalspawn now... hope they are harder than he was.
Is it just me, or is the game running out of difficult enemies? That is (IMHO) a Baldurs Gate III, at least with this character, would never work out. No one to challange you.

As far as I have heard, there are no plans for a BG3.
You might want to try increasing the difficulty level.

It's the same with every game after you have played it for sometime. You learn the controls and is able to manouver better and know what spells to choose and what high level abileties to choose. Me myself never found BG2 any hard since I already played BG before and knew what to do all the time.
The only way I found to make some challanging quests in TOB is to install the ascension mod and then try to solo it

Now that is hard

Ascension + the Improved Fights Serie.
If this isn't enough, try to cross the Ocean at swim!

Try also the Sola mod with all the Improved enemies. Let us know how you did it with the Avenge Spiders, okay?

hey,
I may show my ignorance, but could someone explain how the mods work a little more in depth please? Also, where do I get them? From what I keep reading on the forums, they sound like a good idea next time I play through it (you KNOW there will be a next time... there is always a next time).
thanks

Read the Sticky on this forum. Follow the links. There you'll find the mods (not all in one web page), where it is fully explained and understandable state, even for newbies, how to install the mods and what you should be awared of prior to installation.
Cheers

I think only the Sticky in the SoA forum is updated by Quitch.
To be more precise, 2th post of the 2th page holds links to
EVERYTHING that's needed.

not even bun bun version 3.1 could take on the eclipse party....
sola was put together by a mmeber of this forum, i think, and he was aware of all the nasty tricks and evil tactics we use...
for example, eclipse dumps you int a new area, so you cannot have summons up and running, and there was a constant zosa (zone of sweet air) so my fav desperation trick, chain contingency inc cloud, with all party protected by stacked prot from energy and elelmental protection did nothing!!!!
i suspect the only way to beat eclipse is to really use aerie....
chain contignecy, summon 3 devas...
was going to try, but got morrowind...
ascention sounds just as nasty, but even more so...
in fact, i have heard people say the only way to beat eclipse and ascention is to build a party based not on fun interactions but on pure brute strength...
like a
saravok
keldy
jahira
jan
tashia or kelcy
type uber party, and get them up to high levels and go for autopaused turn based mondo assault...
a high spell caster party dies fast....
heck, even the improved flayers are more resistant to frag grenade deathblow exploit, and evn bun bun had problems...

This is untrue, User.
I did it with a three people party:
Kensai/Mage, Imoen, Sarevok.
WITHOUT cheese, WITHOUT pre-buffing (except for Simulacra summoned
after the last pool)
The only thing, they were high in level (around 36th level,
Sarevok 30th).
It is POSSIBLE.
But, you have to plan carefully each move to kill
each one of the five at the proper moment.
Example: Yaga Shura.
Resistant to EVERYTHING (99% I think) so EVERYTHING
inflict 1 (ONE) damage to him.
Found out that the only spell which worked (at half strenght)
was cone of cold. The rest... ok, Magic Missile can do 5 points
of damage.
Melee attacks too inflict 1 damage to him.
But if you use the Halberd Dragon Breath, or the Flail of Ages,
they have multiple elemental damage, each one inflicts one damage,
and you can reach up to 5 per hit......
Took me a week to try and refine my strategy...
The fun part was the Focus ability which you gain before the
battle, lasts shortly but grants immunity to Time Stop...
So I planned a combined attack with clones and crossed Time Stops!!

Fun!!!!!

littiz, i have indeed read your saga of the kensai mage and ascention, but have you tried the eclipse party???that bugger was designed with me and other cheesers in mind, the constant zosa and improved shadow fiend ai really makes it tough...give it a try, you will like it...

Not yet, User, I'm slow at the game now, I play
only in fragments of time.. it's a hard life!!
I'm a bit stuck also...
I'm close to the end of SoA with Solafein in the party...
But do I have to complete the romance before proceeding to ToB??
What am I to do to get the Eclipse battle??
Anyway, I see your point!
Without cheese you don't know how to win it, so let's see if an "uncheesy" player can do it!!!
I'll try to be worth of the challenge!!!

No, you haven't. But it would be nice if you would reach at least the point where he asks you to go to the woods at night, before fighting Irenicus.
Open a new thread about Sola's mod, romance, etc., if you have specific questions. Here it's off topic.

@Aubrey: What have you become, a Mod??!?!?
It's related to the Eclipse fight ("how do I get it?"), which in turn is
related to the "Too easy?" question!!!
So, you'll have to shut up!!
Unless fable is your friend, of course

The "Aubrey mod"? Didn't know of that...

Hope that could help (obviously spoiler)...
From the Sola-readme:
Currently you will be warned about the Eclipse fight during any morning/day after you have killed Sendai or Abazigal. The actual fight will take place the next time you are outside or
in a forest at night after the warning.

I think an Aubrey mod would be a great idea.

This is my first post on this thread and it has obviously departed from being about the game being too simple.
I recommend a few things :
1. Play on hard, the only bad part is some of the spendy scrolls you buy may not end up in your memory =/
2. Take weak PCs for your party, its no fun to have the same diesel people every time (sarevok, keldorn, korgan, vicky, edwin, etc)
3. Dont take 6 people
4. Challenge yourself by going to rescue Imoen as soon as possible...without leaving the city perhaps.
5. Dont be a dual class and use cheesy tactics like thief traps etc.
If none of this works, try playing blindfolded.
