Don't you just love when you backstab for alot of Damage and just kill so easily. I love the thief I just snuck around on a mage and with one lovely backstab byebye. i love thieves later in the game they are just as good as a fighter only with thief abilities plus a wonderful traps and backstab. Nothing better then a thief in my opinion

A theif may have his special theif abilities but he is by no means as good as a fighter at melee. A fighter has many more HPS, better THAC0, better melee special abilities like whirlwind and hardiness, more attacks per round , the ability to go far beyond "proficient" , much better saveing throws (theives have the worst save table i think), fighters can duel weild effectivly also.

I solo'd a sorcerer through SoA and those crazy kobalds near Lilacor killed me. I ran out of stoneskins, and I could not get the last one by melee. I was also sooooo out of spells used the last MM on the Shaman. Damn this is embarassing....though funny

Why did you ever bother about fighting? Why hadn't you the staf bought? Did you really have less than 2000 in your pocket?

When in Brynnlaw party went into Lady Galvena's bawdy house to rescue Claire. Got her out, but the PC was hit by confusion spell and stood around all mixed up. Party was transported to the docks where Claire made arrangements to sail off with Callahan or whatever. Then, just as she said farewell, my confused ranger cut her down right there, one hit. Reputation dropped about 8 points.

Well I was just going through some saved games for fun. Came across an old Druid Char which sucked so bad but anyway. I was doing some fighting and a shapechanged and at the same time minsc said something but instead of saying what he was supposed to it got mixed up and came out "ahhh he does it good" i think it was his like "ahh thats not right" but somehow it got mixed up i thought it was pretty cool

Example of overkill: was in Planar Prison and I usually solo many places with my main char. Do did this time (human berserker). Got to Warden and fought it and it's Yuan-Ti goons. During the fight I took some damage and was down to 50% HP. Next thing BLAM! My main char is dead. I didn't even see what the heck hit me, maybe Finger of Death or something.. Didn't see. Naturally I was pretty PO'd about that. Reloaded the Quicksave and this time buffed additionally. Slapped on Boots of Speed, Oil of Speed, Draw Holy Might, Enrage, additionally had also on (from group members) the Chant and Defensive Harmony and Bless and so on. Loads of stuff, whole dang portrait was covered with buffs. And then charged the Warden. I managed to pause the game just as I saw him and before he spoke, so I forced the attack and unpaused the game. Warden gave it's speech, then it ended and before Warden could even say "Darn!" my berserker was on him. Here's the overkill - my char did a single hit, screen shaked (Critial Hit) and Warden was dead!

I stared the screen in disbelief - all this darn buffing and such and then he just runs over and whacks the dude cold in it's tracks. What a waste of precious spells.. Then shortly 3 Yuan-Ti mages and 2 Yuan-Ti's and Greater Yuan-Ti came, but they got chopped into sushi fast. Unfortunately I was looking there a bit too long and I failed to see how much damage he then did to the Warden. From weapons, he had Celestial Fury and Sword of Balduran (for extra Magic Resistance).

Neato little extra punch for, say, paladin types is the spell "Glyph of Warding". You walk somewhere and suddenly there's this little foolish band of goblins. Pests, they have no XP value and all together cost less then a single sling bullet Aerie has. You just cast the Glyph of Warding in middle of them and blam! Scorched goblins. It's good to use on these pesky lower lvl mobs which still continue to pester you. Like hobgoblins. "Spare no-on..." ZAP! and silence. Just some sparkles running on blackened corpses..

Also after I cleared the De'Arnise hold with my paladin, the keep was taken over by Roenalls. At least some dude was standing there and telling me to bugger off. Now, I don't like those nosy nobles and when they get really on my nerves, I slay them. But, cannot do it directly, even these fools cost some REP (-5 REP). So, summon the Pit Fiend. Summon another too near them. Oh, don't forget to protect yourself and the party from evil beforehand. Now there's a good chance that the Pit Fiend will shoot it's opponent with a Fireball, and "unfortunately" the poor sap of a noble was nearby... Quint Roenall burnt like a paper dog chasing the asbestos cat thru the fires of Nine Hells. And no REP loss.

That's the weird thing, I don't know what killed him exactly. He came there, swinging the swords, alone, and he had on the Boots of Speed, he was Enraged and also had Draw Holy Might 'special ability' on. I was pretty sure that this is all I will ever need. Level wise he was sort of high, since I usually try to do EVERY single quest I happen upon, with EVERY NPC I can recruit. So level wise I was either 18 or 19 and I was sure that this is more then enough. I was damaged a bit from the fight with the Master of Thralls and it's elementals, all I did after that fight was re-Enraging and casting the second Draw Holy Might. Recalling now, I think I was perhaps killed by Warden, as I remember killing him, but at one point he suddenly appeared again just as I died. Guess I slapped it's "image" down..

But I still don't know what killed my char, I didn't see any spell fly towards him. He was at some 50% HP, fighting with these Yuan-Ti mages when suddenly blam! He fell over dead and I got the "hand" movie.. At that moment I was like "WHAT!? This cannot be! I have spanked these mages before easily!" Guess the resulting anger lead to the "overbuffing" perhaps and then to the overkill part :D
