The White Guar *spoiler wanted*

OK-Ive played through the game once and one quest that I just realized I never completed, in fact, never even got close to finishing was something called the white guar quest. I got it from an ashlander in one of the two camps in the grazelands (Zainab or Ahhmasu-I dont recall which one). She said there was a white guar that needed to be found in a fork in the road where stones are coming from the ground like 5 fingers. I have no idea where this is nor where this white guar is. Im wondering if it even exists.
If anyone knows what Im talking about or has answers for me-they would be much appreciated.

I know what you are talking about... But I don't know the answer. I've been trying to complete that quest for awhile now without any luck....

Did you do the quest where, if you go S-SE from the camp you come to an E to W road above Tel Vos and a guy is standing there who says Ashlander bandits stole his guar hides and asks your help in getting them back?
If you go E on this road (towards the coast) and a little N (IIRC), you find the bandits camped on the beach.
If you go W, you will come to the fork with the rocks sticking up "like fingers". The white guar may be standing behind the rocks and not readily visible as you approach from this direction, so circle around. When you get close to him, he will wander off - follow him.

I'm a little hazy
I'm a little hazy on the details but this white guar quest has nothing to do with hides. It's in the grazelands and the guar is at a fork in the road with some finger like rocks nearby like the instructions said. It's the poor camp and they're suffering from disease and need potions but I'm not good with names and I don't recall in what direction you go to get there. You might have the info in an old game journal. Anyway, you find the white guar and it leads you ( you approach, it moves away etc) to the body of an old wise woman and you grab the potions and save the day. You might have solved this quests by having the potions on you. I was Redgaurd when i did this so I rarely bothered with cure disease potions. I hope this helps. I'll go back and check my old game journal as well.

Thanks! I will look into it soon and maybe I can finally finish that quest.

DojoRat -
You're right, the White guar quest has nothing to do with guar hides.
As Tybaltus had said he'd done all the other quests, I was just using the guar-hide-quest guy as a landmark to indicate the location of the White guar.

When I was doing those quests last week, the White guar walked a few steps and stopped. I could not make him move, so I just left him there to graze and explored the area myself, found the dead healer etc. and made the tribe happy. The guar hides quest was a weird one, because I found and killed two rouges who stole them from that guy on the road (they attaked me), but I did not found any hides. So, my quest remains kind of unfinished. I wonder if there is a bug with both "guar quests" or I have done something wrong?

You should have found the hides on one of the guys you killed. I seem to recall that they were quite heavy and required me to drop a few items before I could carry them all back to the guy who lost them. The white Guar was quite different, but in almost the same place. The wee beastie just leads you to a corpse which you have to loot and take an item back to the camp.

Oops, I missed the hides while searching the corpses, now they are desintegrated, of course. Never mind, it was just a minor thing.
I did not have a problem with White guar quest though, I am just saying that the beast got stuck on the slope instead of moving towards the dead healer lady. Thanks anyway.

Are you sure that these were the ashlanders you were looking for? There are lots of random ashlanders in the grazelands that randomly attack you. The guar hide robbers do NOT immediately attack you-even if you speak with them-unless its about the guar hides.

once you find the white you are suppose to follow it all the way untill you see someone.
erm it was a nice animal but when i followed it, it got killed by an ogrim but does'nt seem to affect the quest

They do have a guar just by their fire, he has a pack of sorts on his back. It is right on the coast.

1) I definitely meant those two guys on the beach with a guar serving as a mule. They attacked me after I mentioned the hides. When I searched their corpses I did not find any hides; I think I just missed them. They had a lot of cheap stuff on them which I did not bother to loot, so I assumed that the stolen goods were loaded on their guar and if I would go and talk with the guy on the road he would be satisfied. My mistake.
2)White guar is supposed to lead to the dead body, but I think even if you just happen to stumble upon it (dead body) by yourself, find the amulet and return it to the Ashlander woman the quest will be completed. I found some quest items and killed several necromancers and monsters "in advance" and later on my deeds were acknowledged and rewarded as completed quests.

anyone knows how to keep a pet gaur?is it a possibility even?
coz i wouldn't mind a bag carrier.
my special ability is to command the animal for 600 sec (beast something) but when i cast it on the gaur it just followed me around....

In old Daggerfall you could buy a horse and a cart and keep your loot in that cart (you could buy a house and a ship as well). Personally, I miss this feature in Morrowind; it was cool.
Like buying mules in DS.

Thanks everyone for your help. I finally got around and did the quest. I was really disappointed by the item you get for the quest. This quest will make my list of top 25 most useless/dissapointing quests in the game. Oh well.
