Which house to join?

Post by JSPCHIEF »

I've pretty much finished the guild quests and am now looking to join a "house" so I can build a Stronghold. Can I belong to more than one house at the same time? Does anyone know which house is best for a well located Stronghold(Centrally located or near fast transport).

Nope, one House. There are mods, however. There were hints one might change to Hlaalu on certain conditions, but i'm not sure. Usually no other House accepts you even if you're expelled from one you've joined before.
If transport is all you care abot join Hlaalu, you have all reasons to and share their spirit :D

If you look at the map that came with the manual, you will find the three locations for each stronghold.

House Hlaalu-Odai Plateau-south from Balmora, a short walk

House Redoran-Bal Isra-South from Maar Gan, and North from Ald Ruhn-halfway on the pathway in between these 2 cities. A little bit of a walk but it is often filled with the constant attacks of cliff racers

House Telvanni-Uvirith's Grave-In the middle of nowhere. Pretty much due west from Tel Fyr that has no transportation. The best way to get here is through recall.

I absolutely agree. Telvanni gives you so many free items. 2 items that I use a lot have come right from House Telvanni.

amulet of flesh and either ring or amulet of equity????

or aryons really cool gloves???

right above aryon, in the rafters of his room, is a grand soul gem....

the hel, is really useful, until you get bearclaw or tohan...

best faction to join is temple.....

ebony mail is best in game, including dragonbone....

if your med armor skills are high enough, (indoril!!! wear it, all the time...buy from ghostgate, or in my experience, i got it getting the auriel bow...great bow, light as ebony and does as much as daedric)

it offers same protection as dragonbone at high skill, and hidden extra 50 points of ac, due to constant effect shield makes it better than dragonbone....

sure the cult gives you second best loot, but did you know you can get the loot without having to join cult?????

skullbreaker can be had without joining cult, just go to the lost daedric shrine and get it.... cheat guide really helps...

maras skirt and blouse just do the quest and have divine intervention scroll handy

the cult supplied items suck... but if you fufill the conditions of the divine meetings of the cult, like having scrolls handy, you can get the good stuff without joining the cult....

ALL other factions do not supply you with good loot, though teh tong gives you killer dagger and mephala skill spell, very nice, and i think you can taunt quest giver at end of sanguine after gettting spell and still become grandmaster...or just simply not let the grandmaster retier, thus get the dagger, spell and all sanguine items...

You have to have the dagger before killing the tong grandmaster or you'll never get it. He doesn't carry it -- the game creates it when you fulfill all the "special duties" quests and he rewards you in dialogue. It's like the skeleton key in that regard.

You know, I found Skull Crusher before I got the quest to find it for the cult. I was just randomly exploring and I just happened to find it. So I didnt find it difficult to find.

Here is a list of some of the items I just randomly stumbled upon without a quest or without a cheat book (I usually dont bother with cheat books-they can ruin some surprises, and you feel a lot better if you do it yourself without too much help-if I need help I come to the forum!)-Anyway heres my list:
Vampiric Ring
Eliedon's Ward
Umbra's Sword
Skull Crusher
Staff of Magnus
Lord's Mail
Dragonbone Mail
Cuirass of Saviors Hide
Ring of Phynaster
Bow of Shadows

Thats the list of items I found just randomly exploring! I have found more than just those. But the difference is that I found the others by someone in the game telling me the location of the items.
Example: Mages guild told me where Warlocks ring is-so I found that. And the list goes on.....

The list I have down there are the items I found by luck-not direction :D

Items

It seems that the game recognizes your lvl when placing random loot. The longer you wait to go treasure hunting...the better items you get when you do. I've even unlocked chests and closets and not looted them to come back much later to find better loot. Thats why I'm trying to do alot of the faction quests before exploring random tombs and caverns.

The game also seems to be checking your level when spawning certain daedra - I was over level 40 when I finally went after Skullcrusher, and encountered two Golden Saints in the Halls of the Dead. Naturally, I soul-trapped both of them.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I have gotten skull crusher with 2 of my characters.

The first one at level 38 faced golden saints and dremora lords down there. I dispatched them easily.

I then atempted to get skull crusher with a level 9 character. Naturally, I was worried that I was going to get destroyed by golden saints. When I got down there, to my surprise, I encountered a few Hungers-They were push overs so I was off the hook and Skull crusher was mine.

jsp, when deciding which house to join, the location should NEVER be a consideration....

if you go to balcony in trev stroonghold, and cast divine intervention, the spell places you in wolverine hall,

if you cast in reldy stronghold in your room alhemsi intervention, the spell will place you in aldruhn, in the bar balmora...

just becareful of the area loading bug, and you'll be fine...

area loading bug???

if you cast recall in sadrith mora to go back to stronghold, and then cast intervention spell, the game will think youre still in sadreth mora...until you go outside and thus allow the game to load a new area, it will think youre in the same area as when you cast recall...this is not issue if you recall to outside map...

oh great, nobody laughed at my "ryoga hibiki" funny...

doesnt anybody watch anime areound here???!!!! :p :p :p

Crassius the Perv

I joined House Hlaalu. One statement I must make is that "Crassius Curio is such a perv!" I have a female character and he made me strip before he would even talk to me. I have the Xbox version does he do this to all females on PC also? Just a thought. lol :D

Crassius Curio does that with everyone. He does that to males along with females. Race and sex doesnt matter-Hes addicted to sex.

UserUnfriendly-My brother is an anime addict. He has many boxes of DVD's and goes over a friends house for 6 hours 2 times per week just to watch anime. I recognize the name you put, but Im not as much of a fan as my brother is-I liked animes such as Akira, Princess Mononoke, Ninja Scroll, and a comedy called My dear Marie which was a GREAT anime. But that name you put just rang a bell in my head. But I cant place what anime its from.

ryoga hibiki....

in ranma 1/2, he is the one who turns into a little black piggie when hit by cold water, he also has no sense of direction what so ever, and thus my comments about needing the maps in the cheat book....

ok, i have been collecting for over 8 years now, so i am way over having lots...
