Ever since I first met Solomon (I left his ring in a chest somewhere....hahaha), I've been highly suspicious of anyone that approaches me with anything (yeah, I'm pretty sure that this "quest" to save "Neva" the brother is probably bogus/trap/setup), but are there any that aren't cult attempts to lure me into a "situation"? There was one fellow that came up complaining that his friend had been killed by some big HO fellow, and wondered if I would contribute to his funeral.....now, I'm a Paladin (L:85 G:100), but I was highly cynical about this, and I'm wondering if I should have "bit" and donated money to his friend's funeral or not. I've been at Good: 100 for some time and I just keep getting more alignment adjustments, even though I'm maxed out, so I'm wondering if this would have been;

a. An experience bonus
b. A setup/trap to either lure me to a funeral or plant a "homing device" on me like Solomon tried to do
c. Just an alignment adjustment (which I really don't need).

BTW, has anyone had any Chaotic/Lawful adjustments? I'm still stuck on 85 even though I'm a pretty unlawful Paladin.....

there are a good few *trap* quests in the game but the best thing to do is just to walk into the trap and kill all oposition, as a paldinyour honor demands that you erase all evil from the land :)

so go and give them a personal visitation from god and and shower yourself with exp, gold and items :)

OK

OK

(answering both your posts)

Rather than avoid these "setups", I was going to "cut them off at the pass", by killing the messengers (as if I actually had Detect Evil, like I'm supposed to), and then visiting the trap well prepared (like a surprise birthday party, "Oh, what a surprise! Here taste a little Bastard Sword up your arse! Good thing I brought along enough whoop-ass for everyone!" ... :D ). This is how I handled Alhalor. Once I had visited his house, I was pretty suspicious that he was a/the Werewolf and I took a chance and attacked him in the Alliance Inn. It was a short fight and I beat the living stuffings out of him.

But, the particular incident I mentioned is the one I'm concerned about. Should I have given a little money to the funeral to set up the trap, exp, or alignment gain? I don't need the alignment gain, and the 200 gp aren't worth wasting.....

I never got the, give to my friend's funeral scenario. So I can't say that it is a trap or not. Although I did persuade 100gp out of Neva's brother to go "save" him. :)

As a pally I would say that should have given him the money. Even if it is a trap, so be it. Killing all and let Clageddin sort them out.
