How can I get the Journal from Sir Karathis (sp?) without killing him? I faught him and we talk blah blah blah... all I want is the Journal so I can show it to Neurik and take out Alehor, but the stupid bastard won't give it to me, and the option to tell Neurik anything about the matter does not show up! Basically I can't finnish the quest without ruining my role-playing experience (I play a good aligned character, and to get the Journal I would have to attack Sir Karathis even though I told him to stay and I would help him...) If anyone knows what I should please tell me.

Have you tried offering one of the silver necklaces Neurik gave you to Sir Karathis, as you probably did with the other afflicted boys?
I think I did the same with all of them, and it worked ok. And if he does not give you his journal, then check the coffers behind him

I have no silver necklaces left (he only gave me 3) and the chests behind him have treasure but nothing I can use to help me in the quest.

He should have given you 4 not 3. You might want to go and check the divine pool in the Temple of Tyr to make sure you didn't drop one somewhere along the way by accident. You have to give him one and turn him back into a human for him to give you his journal.

And remember when you talk about specific details of a quest that you need spoiler in your subject.

Yeah but this quest has been discussed at least 3 times with no spoiler warning so I figured nobody cares

and nope... no necklace in the divining pool and I dont have one in my inventory.

You got me. You were supposed to get 4 from Neurik. If you don't have the option to offer him one, then I say just go kill Alhelor anyway. I am not sure if that will complete the quest or not though. BUt if you can't save Sir Karathis then the quest can't be completed anyway.
