The book of Kaza (spoilers)

I just finished Korgan's quest...
Does anybody know if there's something interesting to do with that "book of Kaza"?
(Just selling it for some 1300 gold seems a little... unrewarding...)

No, that's it, and it's quite a good reward if you perform the quest during the early stages of the game.

Tell me not!
Sigh... This is a sad ending indeed if I ever seen one.
Ah well, at least the silly dwarf seems happy now

What more would you want? It's a good reward for youthful parties, and you'll find wands everywhere. The game is waaay overstuffed with 'em, IMO.

It's just that people (both innocents and not-so-innocents) got slaugthered for no worthy reason.
That's why I'm telling it's sad.
Even if I was the leader of a "youthful" party, which I'm not, I would never want people to die just to get some gold.
That's just not me.
Too bad this quest gives you
no chance to save the innocents involved. (Thanks bioware)
That's exactly the kind of sad things I really hate.
Ok, now I'll stop whining...
Thanks for the info anyway

I never take Korgan so I don't really know what are the happenings you're referring to, but for the things you've said you
have my full approval, mate!

But Korgan is so much fun! Some of his dialogue is hilarious! Besides, he's not ALL bad. When you hear from someone about how children have been murdered (during Sir Sarles quest for illithium?), he says something to the effect that he may be bad, but someone who'd kill children wasn't worth the spit on his shoes.
Really endeared the selfish, ale-guzzling blowhard to me.
Sure, he may be psychotic, willing to do just about anything for the right price, and threatens everyone who looks at him with an axe to the skull, but underneath it all he really has a soft heart!

Read some of his tob dialogues, the ones where he "puts down" the usuless or wounded members of his old party...

Very well then.. Korgan may not be Phycotic
But he definatly ruthless, and he does operate outside laws... so its still not a smart thing for a *Goody* char to take his advice

Correct.
I just wanted to try
all the quests in the game, but I guess I'd better create some evil character for some of them...
Ok, ok...
If I manage to install Valen somehow, I'll be playing an anti-paladin for some time
(I do like Korgan, anyway, meant no offense to anyone calling him silly)

Korgan is an opertunist, and quite ruthless indeed
I dont know about anyone else but he gives me the impression that were there suitable profit he would commit nearly any act

His social interactions lead me to believe that as long as his anger isn't kindled, he'll still show great group loyalty. In fact, as I've noted before, all the so-called evil NPCs give me the distinct impression (just my POV) that they're truly neutral, "looking out for number one," rather than actually evil according to TSR's extremely simplistic system.

Character and alignment asside....
If you want to mantain a clean reputation, its best not to listen to the *evil* chars of the game
Thats really the only point I was trying to get across, I just got a little sidetracked

Well, that's what Korgan's life is all about: people dying over money. If you want him in your party, get used to it.

Funny how my original question about a mysterious item turned out in an extensive debate on psychanalizing Korgan
(With the complicity of the moderator)
Ok, I'll join the debate then...
I have to agree on the fact that "evil" SoA npc hardly do anything really evil.
It's the first time I try Korgan and I have to say again that I really like him.
Viconia is not even to be mentioned about acting evil... especially when you romance her... !
I don't know about Edwin (still have to try him).
But I find that the npc that do really annoying things (like attacking or otherwise molesting other characters), afaIk, are more often the non-evil ones! (I mean Keldorn, Anomen, Haer'Dalis... )

When you take a npc in your party, it stands to reason that the quest reflects the nature of the npc. Keldorns quest for example, has to do with duty, love and honor, as well it should because this kind of thing fits a paladin.
Korgan is merciless warrior, so it 's only natural he'd take on a job that needs a ruthless approach.
I don't get why a lot of people are so down on Korgan. At least he's honest about his intentions and his past. What you see is what you get. No hidden agenda, no secrets in his past. He's actually a lot like Mazzy in that regard!
Spoilerish:
About two other evil npc's: if 'played' correctly, both Viconia and Sarevok will try to become better persons. Not exactly easy, since they're both haunted and scarred people, but they still try very hard.
IMHO that makes them more good-aligned than, say, Keldorn or Anomen. Keldorn will attack and kill Viccy when they're both in your party, for no other reason than that's she's a drow. Anomen wants her burned at the stake for the very same reason. Nothing good about that.

Anomen wants her burned at the stake for the very same reason. Nothing good about that.
What's even more pathetic about Anomen, is that after you ignore his advice to burn Viconia, he then adds his two cents about accepting her into your party with something like "I had no idea drow women were so... striking." and adds that he has no reservations about her being a member.

Since Vic and Anomen are both clerics I've never had them in my party at the same time. Do they get along?
