As I accepted the Cult of the Unseeing Eye I heard of Keldorn ... I did a little "research" on this site, an now I think he's a quite good replacement for Anomen. Am I right ?

Depends on what you're looking for. Keldorn is a Paladin with decent stats if equipped with Gauntlets of Dex. Anomen (later Sir Anomen) is a dual Fighter(8)/Cleric, also in need of the Gauntlets of Dex to enhance his stats. If you want another fighter in your party, Keldorn is great (good kit and able to use one of the very best weapons). On the other hand, if you're looking for cleric spells and a nice backup fighter, Anomen is the way to go (he can be used as main fighter with good results, too, but Keldorn is the better, especially later on). Of the two, I absolutely prefer Anomen.

My party consists of me (Knight), Minsc, Sir Anomen, Valygar, Jaheira and Aerie. I personally don't like Anomen that much, so I probably want to replace him with Keldorn. Do you think this is a good considering the rest of the group ?

I personaly couldn't decide so I took both of them. My party right now is Me(Kensai),Keldorn, Anamoen, Minsc, Nalia and Aerie. I like having two Clerics, two Mages and 3 tanks. For a good party the two knights are indespensible. True Anamoen is a bit annoying, but I can look past it as he is very useful. That and Keldorn needs a budy from the Order of the Radient Heart to swap war stories with.

What class and kit are you playing? Anyway, I believe you're short of Mages. Also, you should get yourself a Thief. Are you open to replace other NPCs than Anomen? I'm certain I'll be able to suggest a good party composition for you.

I myself am a cavalier Knight.
My second tank is Minsc whom I want to keep in my party. Aerie is my first mage, but I want to replace Jaheira by Edwin, so that I have 2 mages. So with these four people I'd have 2 tanks and 2 mages. Anomen and Valygar served by now also as tanks, but as you know Valygar is also a good remote fighter with his bow. The question actually is, whether Anomen or Keldorn fits better into the group, because with the other 5 members I'm rather content. Or should I really change my party setup concerning these 5 ?

If what you want in the group is another capable tank, Keldorn is in my opinion the best melee based npc in SoA. There really is no issue of what your lacking ..and your not, its all what you prefer a 'party' to consist of. From what you've said thus far, you seem to be seeking the best warrior for your group at present..and in that, Keldorn will make a fine addition. Korgan is an awesome tank, but can cause problems for a good party and is a pain in the ass over-all. Hope this helps..
Good hunting !

If you're a cavalier, then adding Keldorn might be redundant. I'm playing a cavalier and going for a purely lawful good party for role-playing, but decided to go with Anomen since I never used him before. I heard he turns good later on.
You have a pretty versatile party right now, you might consider dropping Valygar for Imoen later on. She can fulfill your thief/mage/archer needs. Perhaps drop Valygar and grab Yoshimo to then be replaced with Imoen. Yoshi's a kick-butt archer.
There's also a reality check when playing with Minsc and Edwin; they hate each other and will fight eventually.

Take Keldorn, You already have 2 healer (Jaheira/Aery) and Keldorn is a great fighter.
Can use the best weopon in the game, and dispell magic is realy handy, just as the detect invissability (it's called different).
Go for Keldorn!!!!

big thx for the replies ...
another question: would cernd be a good replacement for jaheira ? i've seen him fighting versus faldorn and the damage he did was ... uhm ... impressive. jaheira didn't over all give so much damage as cernd did in this particular fight ... so, should i kick jaheira from the party ?

I would add more thief skills to your party. How have you planned to take on those traps? I know you can use fodder to set them off but isn't that quite boring? And will you use spells to find the traps in the first place? Then opening locks, spells for that, too?
My ideal party always have at least one Warrior, two Mages, One Cleric, One Druid and one Thief. Of course, Dual and Multi class characters can fill more than one role of these. I often mix alignements as this makes for more interesting dialogues.
You're playing a Paladin yourself. Then you want to keep Minsc. That makes two Warriors. Then I propose you pick either Jaheira or Cernd, both are great NPCs. Edwin is IMO the best Mage but considering you have Minsc in your party and no thief skills so far, I'd rather recommend Jan, Nalia or Imoen. Then keep Aerie. Finally, to this party you could add any one of Valygar, Keldorn or Anomen - the party is already well balanced so it's more a question of your playing style.
From all the NPCs that have been mentioned I would go with another party, though.
Yourself - melee fighter.
Anomen - cleric spells, second melee fighter.
Valygar - scout, backstabber and archer.
Jaheira - druid spells, mage body guard, romance interest.
Edwin - mage spells.
Jan - thief skills and second mage.
