Trouble with the Solaufein

For two days now I have been trying to download this mod. It gets to a certain point and it says error regarding talk dialouge. I have uninstall/reinstalled And downloaded the patch. That still did not work. But, I have a quest about Solaufein. Is this mod supposed to be for homo/gay people? If so, I won't bother loading it. I am a girl and I like guys, so do my characters. Personally, I do not like seeing ref's in theses forums regarding that type of lifestyle. Imoen, is just fine, she'll find some nice farm boy and settle down with him. I believe someone's sex beliefs, lifestyle should be kept to themselves. Any help on the mod would be appreciated. Thanks

Solaufein

First, thank you for answering me. Second, I have been trying to down load that patch, and get to a certain point where it as an error regarding talk dialouge(hope that is spelled correctly). I have uninstalled, reinstalled BG II and still get the same message. Plus, I downloaded the BG II patch.

As for as your huh? The way I was reading the threads over at a different forum, was that he was homo/gay, male/female. If I understand you, he romances either sex? Or did I have misundertanding of what he does? Please correct me. If you need to email me regarding the error message, here is my email address uni10corn@aol.com. If need be, I could email the attachment, showing what the error says. Thanks a million. Legolas

Yes..........Solafein romances both sexes........so you have fun anyway :)

About your error: I dont exactly know the problem...what version of the download do you have??
I would download the latest one.....cause the version b4 that didnt work either cause you needed the Valen Mod.

The only thing I can advise you to do is make sure you got the latest download (and if you got more Mods that you install them in the correct order)

If it doesnt work then.....ud best contact Sabre, he knows more about such problems then me

It would be helpful if you could tell us whether you have other mods installed as well, or not.

Have you ToB installed? Sola mod works with as well as without ToB.

-- Install SoA

-- Install SoA official patch downloaded from Bioware's site

-- Install Solaufein Mod. The latest version is v64.

The version which Archer_S is talking about, is v63.
This version was wrongly asking for Valen mod when it shouldn't. It was a mistake caused by an oversight on Weimer's part; one day later Weimer corrected it though, and thus the v64.

If you follow my advice and you see that there is still problem with the dialogue.tlk file, ask Wesley Weimer for help. His e-address in at the bottom of his web page.

About the romance: Solaufein will try and will romance the pc no matter what gender and race will be. More info can be found on the Sola mod Readme file and on the Sola Mod Discussion Board

Mad Mod Attack

Hey Aubrey, we deinstalled BG/BGII and reloaded them. I checked for a patch on the Sword Coast, but don't think I found one. This morning, I just finished downloading the official patch. No, I have not downloaded the TOB patch. I was thinking of goina ahead and loading that game too, then check and see if it had patches. I'll try your suggestion. Please let me know if I am missing something from anything that I mentioned. I have also been emailing with Weimer. Thanks. Legolas

Mod again

I should have specified that this morning I downloaded the BG II SoA Bioware Patch. Are there any other patchs that I need to know about? L.

It depends on what games/mods you have installed. Can you tell us what exactly you have installed in your computer and by which order? This might help.

If you have installed ToB and not the patch as yet, this might be the cause of your troubles.

The order of installation (BG and BG-ToSC are excluded from my list) should be:

SoA
SoA official patch
ToB
ToB official patch
Sola mod.

Maybe the SoA official patch isn't really necessary since the ToB patch is supposed to fix all the previous bugs. Personally, I usually install game and patches in the above order because I want to be 100% sure that everything would work properly.

If you have installed games, patches and mod in any different order, I'm afraid you would have to start all over again.

Legolas,

You are supposed to be the one who knows in what order games, patches and mods have been installed in your computer.

Follow the installation order I stated above and hopefully everything should be fine. :)

I understand your disappointment, but still I don't think that it's the mod that causes the problem. Did you receive a reply from Wesley about the dialog file?
