Have you tried updating the drivers for your CD-RW and CD-ROM? What CD burning software did you install?

Yeah i did but it just said i didnt have any new ones. Should i uninstall the drivers then reinstall them? it was Easy Cd Creator 5 i think thats the name. And when it opened it said something about drivers cause my system to be unstable and it was going to disable them but i clicked not to but looks like it did anyways.

Windows XP comes with a system rollback feature for this very reason. You should be able to use that to restore your system to it's previous configuration.

Be careful to make sure the drivers are stated to work with XP. The software you mentioned had major problems working with XP. I haven't dealt with it for a while, and can't remember if 5 was the version that was XP compatanle or not. I do know they resolved the issue with the latest version though. Still, I switched to Nero anyway. :)
