Most of all i wonder where do you get boots of speed
also what do you think i should wear if ranger is dominant class
I dont know i skimpped wisdom in character creation for i thought i would get some ring or amulet to give me more of it so i could cast some spells what do you think obout that?

What kind of a ranger are we talking about, are you a melee type or a ranged type. If melee then you might want to find some good light armor, and dual-weild whatever weapons you like. As for wisdom just make sure that you get it up to 14 by lvl 15, because you need atleast that much to cast lvl 4 spells, and note that 14 wisdom must be you BASE wisdom (without any items.)

Exactly, if your base is 10 and you add 8 points through items you still can't cast any spells.

that is stupid, what is the point of raising it then?

I'm not 100% sure if wisdom gives bonus spells to ranger class, but i know it applies to cleric nad i think rangers too. Furthermore high wisdom will improve will saving throws..

Also, high wisdom gives you more insights. While a lot of them are useless (other than for RPing), some are alternatives to persuade.

Hmm yes I suppose raising wisdom is stupid. It only helps numerous skills, saving throws, bonus spells, spell DC for any divine magic, insights in conversation just to name a few things, yeah completely stupid. Not to mention that if you actually put bonus points in it from leveling that you can cast higher level divine spells, useless.

You should get as good a (Studded) Leather Armor as you can find/afford. Make sure that your Dexterity bonus to the AC isn't hampered by the armour. Then try to raise your Dex with Gauntlets of Dex, Boots, Rings, Amulets etc. Both Linu and Tomi will give you valuable equipement... Go for the feat Weapon Finesse and dual two light weapons such as Short Swords or Rapiers in melee. Use a (Composite) Long Bow for ranged attacks.
As Ares says, your Wisdom should be at least 14 in order for you to throw level 4 spells later on. However, it's a long way there and you'll get 3 ability points to distribute before that (one every forth level). Still, as it's cheaper to set your Wisdom to 14 at creation than your Dexterity to, say 18, it might be a good idea to have those 14 already from start and instead put the additional ability points into Dexterity.

gee thanx guys
i already took weapon finesse and now i am dual wielding long sword (1d4 sonic damage) and short sword (sleep). As a ranged weapon i use composide longbow (strenght bonus +2damage)
currently i wear studden leather +1 but i seek gargolye skull to make that fine armor AC9
Do you know where i might find one (i know about that snake cult house but i just cant get in something about not being a worshipper)any ideas
later on i plan to take 4 levels of fighter to get some more feats so i could be good in both in melee and ranged.
As for wisdom i only plan to take 9 levels of ranger and the go to 7levels of rogue and 4 levels of fighter.
So i wonder are there any realy good spells for which i should build my wisdom up i mean i already have that bard (shawyn?)
who bufs me up
what about boots of speed are they in the first chapter or can i go to the secong chapter without them - all i am doing in first chapter now is searching for these boots an gargolye skull.
ahh yeah one question more i heard i could effectible use parry skill (wearing light armor dual wielding and that) what do you think about that?
Is rapid shot worth of spending one feat for point blank shot which is useless to me (dual wield melee)
i would rather spend it on something like cleave.

I don't think Weapon Finesse works with Long Swords... Haven't got the manual available right now, though.
Hint: Have you asked the person who wants you to investigate the cult if his brother left something behind?

I believe you're talking about the Whitebone armor. Unfortunately, even though the required component is leather armor +1, it turns out to be a breastplaste or half-plate or some such (?)
. So it won't help anyway, I'm afraid.
Which brings up another ridiculous point...why does the Armor of Comfort count as heavy armor?! It's supposedly as comfortable as a well-tailored tunic when donned, yet the max DEX bonus is only one or two! I can see that it brings up balancing issues, but the way it is makes no sense...

no wepon finesse does not apply to long sword or any other medium sized weapon but attack bonus does not change much so i still rather use long sword (1d8 +1slashing damage +1d4 sonic damage = 3-13damage per hit) i tried that rapier namarra i think which dazes enemies but before they sleep i can cut them down with long sword (this seems like a powergamer)
cats grace 1d4+1 dexterity right? i dont have it in inventory right now but i think it only lasts for 1 hour? so i am gona fight, do a little walking and then sleep for the rest of the day to get my dex up?
and yes i read some quide or something
http://home.attbi.com/~bretwd/SR_NWN_Home.htm
where i got the info that a ranger level9 cant even cast 2 level spell??? i dont think that is right but i dont know.
well it seems nothing will happen with that armor after all
Anyone knows where boots of speed are>????

Yes 9th level rangers can cast 2nd level spells but they cant cast Cats Grace, most of their spells are similar to the Druid list but not all of them.

Randomly generated. I got them mid-Ch.2 with some strategically-executed cheese. I posted it somewhere, if you want to search for it. You can also buy them at the beginning of Ch. 3.

If you look on p. 120 of the manual, it states that Cat's Grace is a second level Ranger spell. Druids can't throw it though.

I read that cats grace lasts for 1 hour per level does that mean only casters level(ranger) or all levels together (multiclass)
is parry worth of investment? i think that properly developed parry skill (above 20 at least) can kick ass in multiplayer when that big bully fighter (I CRUSH YOU!!! ARGH - intelegence 6) is swinging and flailing his great sword around i would gracefuly dodging his blows and performing counter attacks.
that would prove that melee fighters are not better than rangers becouse of lack of skills.

I take parry for the novelty. Its usefulness is a whole 'nother story...
In answer to your other question, spells are cast at caster level, not total character level.

Thats odd, cause Im pretty sure they can't cast Cat's Grace in pen and paper. Ill have to go look in my PHB when I get home.

for parry its important how many attacks you have=parried blows
anyway parry is so great couse you can parry even special attacks(imp.power attack, quivering palm, fury of blows,...)
i never played maxed out monk or fighter (best melee i think) so who has could he tell how many attacks can you have at the end (lvl20)+ attack bonus
is there any character who has more attacks??
