What weapon should I give my skald pc?...if he's doing songs (which i think is more beneficial than him missing adn whiffing with his weapons) the whole time, then whats the point of giving him weapons in teh first place...won't he just end up singing songs and casting spells in between songs anyway?

A Skald won't have that many spells, especially not in the beginning of the game. An extra fighter always comes in handy. Your Skald should at least have some decent weapons in order to defend himself from direct attacks. Songs won't stop a sword, you know. As to the choise of weapons, anything will do. I prefer a two handed melee togehther with a ranged weapon, since the Skald can't use a shield anyway (until much later, at least).
