You use the powders from the Alchemist's Apratis to make the color of the appropriate color of the stone. IF you want to know highlight to read.
Mala - Red & Yellow
Ameth - Red & Blue
Emer - Yellow & Blue

Thanks for the suggestion but - nope - no luck!

The first 2 "mixes" worked, but something's gone wrong as it says the last two powders I have are still yellow!!!!!

HAILPPP!

So does that mean you made purple twice? Used Red and Blue together twice.

I don't know to be honest, I didn't really understand the puzzle (and I don't like cheating) so I was just throwing all of the powders in one at a time.

The first "flash" I got with the first correct combination I thought was the solving of the puzzle, took me ages to realise it wasn't!

But I have just checked again before replying to this and I definately only have 2 powders left and they are both yellow!??!!

Check that "Pool of thingies" back in the temple....

Uhm, actually I don´t think the powders are put there, but hey, you´re desperate ;)

SOunds like to me it flashed even though it wasn't the correct first one. You might have to go back to a save point prior to doing the riddle of smoke.

Somewhere I read, that all the stuff you click on, is put at the end of an action-row (line? sorry for this explanation)

It´s just like clicking on a spell, Unpausing - Pausing rapidly and then again clicking on the spell, while it´s just being performed but not deactivated -> this will make the spell to be cast twice.

Never tried it, but maybe you just clicked all that Powder stuff too fast and made the hell a mess of it...

Well, I took the advice and re-started from an earlier save, all is well now and have just defeated the Balor Lord - not as difficult as I thought it would be when it appeared (I am a level 10 fighter and level 5 wizard).

Now only if I can figure out how to get into the door in the Orc lair (past the Drow) His name is "many-arrows" but his door is continually locked saying "he'll be back soon"!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Getting past the door doesn't really involve a riddle. You'll most likely understand it sooner or later.

Nope, still not figured it out.... although I have defeated Klauth (no easy task like the Balor Lord was) and have a second Word of Power... now to find the third......

Have you killed the other two orcs in the saving the supply line quest? I think that you have to be on the third part of that quest to get the doors to open.

Well, I am now in chapter 4 without actually solving that quest - and here's me thinking one of the words of power would be guarded by "many-arrows".... obviously not!

I am now concerned at whether 15th level is high enough to tackle chapter 4 (10 fighter 5 illusionist)...

...time will tell of course!
