Anyone had Imoen for her thieving abilities? How does she perform? Are they enough for... let's say.... Watcher's Keep? How often do you have to rely on potions to keep her effectice? And finally, can she be used as the main thief of the party? Thankies!!
All replies are valued.

Imoen's a great thief...even in ToB. Just give her the ring of danger-sense and the harper's amulet (found in the fire-giant temple) and she can find and disarm just about any trap (and open just about any lock) in the game.
True her skills aren't as high as a pure thief, but from my own experience thieving skills don't matter much after a certain level (and Imoen is there)....AND she is a full blown archmage too.

Garcia,
In ToB, how good do you need to be? I have found that the only thing Imoen loses out on are the high level traps. While they are nice, you can live without them. Otherwise, Imoen does just fine.

And for added thieving skills, give her the mercykiller ring (collectors edition).

How about.... Does Imoen have a lot of interaction with anyone or does she even comment anything in SoA or in ToB? Does she liven up a party anyway, like Jan does?

Although... I HATE Jan.

a good thing about ToB is that getting money is not as hard as SoA so just buy some potions of thivery (put them in the bag of holding if you want to save some space) this is enought to get you through without any big problems.

Imoen is all the thief I ever needed in any of my games. there are several items to boost her lock-picking and trap finding/disarming abilities and if some nasty lock or trap is still giving you problems you can always gulp down a potion.

Okay - I think this is far enough.
Aside from some amusing banter, she also starts gaining Bhaalspawn powers like the protaganist did in BG; dreams, and then she gets a spell like power.
She evens gets some stat boosts.

I agree. Yoshimo's thief points are very odd. His kit specializes in laying traps and he's incapable of doing this very thing! And the 100 % in Moving Silently - to what use before you get his Hide in Shadows up to a decent level? This is just another incitament (as if we needed any more...) to dump him ASAP and get Jan instead.

You should bring him (Yoshimo) to Spellhold for his quest.
