Making potions? - spoiler

I was in the Charwood castle in Chapter 2. Came across a note that talks about how to make clerical potions. How is this done?

It is actually pretty self explanatory. Put an empty bottle and a healers kit on the table. Cast a spell, cure light wounds for example, and you will get I think 10 potions of Cure light wounds. I am not sure if this can be done more than once though.

Hmmm. I tried this. But I cast barkskin, and the only thing that happened was that the table became bark! I LMAO at that! 
Maybe it only works with the lowest-level spells? Would Higher-level spells are possible if the I used a Healer's Kit +6 or +10? Maybe the fact that I am a Druid rather than a cleric is what prevents me from making it work.

I believe it has to be clerical spells only. I now for a fact most of the healing spells and lesser restoration works.

Ah. Can it be done anywhere else, or does it only work on that particular alchemical table?
