ok, i just started playing this game a few days ago (i'm around level 9 or 10, not quite sure) anyway i'm currently doing quests for the Fighter's Guild. I finished all the quests for Eydis Fire-Eyes, and so i decided to move on to Percius Mercius (hehe great name) Anyway when i reached Ald'Ruhn i decided to sell off a few high quality items to the local merchants. To my horror i found anytime i attempted Barter/Training i'd recieve a message along these lines. "I dont deal with one who bears the mark of Zenithar (sp) You obviously have an oath you have yet to fulfill" or something to that affect. So the big question: How do i get the nice people of Ald'Ruhn to speak with me? (FYI i haven't done any part of the main quest yet. I took the orders to find the puzzle box as a favour to the leader of the fighter's guild, but i haven't actually gone through with it yet) Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I think I know what the problem is. On your travels, did you talk to some Argonian that wanted you to take shirts to Bevale Tenerman in the skar of Ald ruhn? If yes, he asks you to swear on Zentithar that you fulfill this task. If you said yes to this, then that is what the mark you refer to is. Go to Bivale Tenerman in the skar, give her the shirts, and the mark is removed.

Hope that solves everything. :)

Sure. No problem. I am happy to help. If you get stuck somewhere else and I know the answer, you can depend on me giving you direction.

Hehe - I had this happen to me too, when I tried to use the Siltstrider service. (I had forgotten I had the shirts, since I picked them up while doing a Redoran quest.)

I believe you, Mortician, that you had to browse your journal for a long time to find simple information (and still missed it). It only proves my point once again: THIS JOURNAL SUCKS!!!

Yes, the journal is possibly the worst aspect of the game. I'm surprised a company that did such a fine product in so many other ways could accept a recording tool like that journal for release.

The journal would be a lot better had it had a section for quests yet to be completed and quests that are done. Sort of like Baldurs Gate.

Or better yet, like PS: Torment. That game has the best journal of any game I've seen.

Ive never played Planescape. What was so great about its journal?

I played Torment long time ago and don't remember anything particularly outstanding about its "recording device" except a voice saying "updated my journal" every time. I think, the whole dialogs were recorded or something like that. At least it was not pain in the neck.
