Baalor Ale?

I found an odd object... I think it was called a mug of Baalor's Ale. I think it was in the Shadow Thieves' guild IIRC.
It gives the option "drink potion", but cannot be equipped, and when I click "drink potion" I hear the "gulp!" sound, but the item is not expended and (apparently) has no effect.
Does anybody know if it serves some purpose?
(Part of some quest, etc... ?)

It's a left-over from BG1. You may also be asked to buy some ale when in a certain area - a local merchant sells it.

Yes I know of it... at Umar Hills...
(but I was surprised to find it back in Athkatla).
So... not worth of a slot in the backpack, I guess?

In Umar Hills there are some kids who wanna be adventurer who ask you to buy the swords and ale. If you give them just the Ale they'll go to the mimic cave and get drunk... mildly amusing.

Oh well I gave them both this game and didn't find them there. Then again Bodhi has yet to appear for our initial meeting, so my game could be screwed up.

And I'm no ranger...
I'm just trying to figure out what to do with a spare mug of ale
in Athkatla!
(Ah well, maybe I'll manage to get whole party drunk without paying 1 single gp...)

I always thought you could give it to the priest in the graveyard district, never tried though.
