What if you kill "Tethtoril" in the first chapter...
Since he is the one that teleports your party to the Candleceep catacombs, in chapter 7 (?).

And what if you kill Elminster..? or is it impossible. (never tried that.. maybe in my next new game..)

IIRC, several key characters are unkillable, and attacking them ends your game in very short order.

I once tried to kill Ulraunt, since it says in the manual that he carries a Staff of the Magi (I think). I managed to deal over 350 points of damage to him, but 'twas no use. Is there any way to remove that invincibility?

Just checked the manual, and yes it does mention him carrying a staff rumored to be the Staff of The Magi. But if you did get that thing in BG you'd be invincible. It's UBER enough in BG2. It would still be interesting to get, but I don't even think you could use GK to get it. You'd have to export the .itm file and put it in your override. And then give it to your guy via GK.

I tried that once, and lasted a few seconds against him. IIRC he used some customised spell that did an insta-kill on the PC.

Possibly a Finger of Death, or a Powerword Kill. Both of which are higher level spells found in BG2?

You can kill both of them at the top level of Candlekeep. Both are only vulnerable to critical hits, but quite easy once they run out of spells. They carry nothing good however, and you have to have A LOT of patience to kill them.
(I reloaded after, and never saw whether Biff appeared though)

I have tried to kill Elminister but i can't seem to harm him. Even with the best Weapon (Drizzt's schimitar). I have never tried to kill Tethtoril.

Well... Elminster IS a level 25 wizard. I would somehow find it debasing for the game to allow you to kill him. Most important characters will inst-kill you though (tethtoril in chapter 1, gorion) but if killed quickly enough, sometimes you can get around it. I killed gorion once, but if I allowed him to get a spell started, I died.

Anybody ever tried to kill Koveras?

Nice thread Bombadil!! ;)

Because we also wondered if killing Koveras would pre-end the game. Maybe like trapping him in an entangle or web spell (or both). Now is a nice time to ask if anyone succeeded?!

In general, my experience has been that killing a character necessary to the plot either causes the plot to stall or a miracle to occur.

Example of the former would be killing Irenicus (in BG2) with traps before he has a chance to make his final speech: merely results in your party being trapped in the underworld.

Example of the latter is killing the Elvenhair fellow in Candlekeep Inn (prologue) then discovering that he is alive in Beregost.

Never tried killing Koveras or Tethtoril but my guess would be one of these two results would occur -- probably the miracle, unless you killed them right before they were supposed to talk to you.

I have killed both Gorion and Ulraunt. Ulraunt is actually really easy, he just have a really low AC and enormous amount of hitpoints. For Gorion, I used multiplayer and imported in 6 level 8 fighters carrying some protections, especially oils of speed. You have to kill him really quick though. I tried to kill Tethtoril the same way with all six fighters using pro magic scrolls. They use fists seems like the only thing that damages him). But I did over 1000 points of damage!!!!!!!!!! He must have regeneration or something, combined with only critical hits, impossible.
