I cant find the brain in the penninsula prison?

Ikilled the creature but I can't find the brain anywhere. I researched the entire dungeon and triple searched the lair. Where did it go???

Have you actually defeated the intellect devourer or just Gaoler?
The devourer is a common bug that occured when updating to version 1.21 but it is resolved with patch v1.22. The intellect devourer never shows up thus you can't get the brain you need. Is your game version up to date?

yes it is up to date. The devourer was there and I was on the brink of killing him then he disappeared. I thought he jumped into my head but he was nowhere to be found. No brain...

Anyway did t happen again when you reloaded ? I don't know if there are editing tools for nwn such as shadowkeeper but for bugs like this it should be nice

Strange, I did not have any problems with 1.21 and Devourer spawing. But when I upgraded to 1.22, it changed that Head Gaoler drops nothing, and upstairs, when talking to Fenkt, he is armed with halberd (dropped it after fight downstairs), but now when looked his stats, he is armed with only shortsword downstairs, and no longer drops ironwood.

The problem with the intellect devourer not leaving a brain, is a well known bug that many people have encountered in different patches. The 1.22 was supposed to fix the problem, but apparently it doesn't. The bug thread that is a sticky in this forum, also has a description of how to solve the problem.
