I got 2 choices in robes at the moment and both are really good but what would be the best.

I'm a lvl 12 monk with AC 23 when wearing no robe.

First robe I can use is the robe of the dark moon

concentration -1
AC 0
HASTE

OR

Improved robe of the old order

AC 0
+2 bonus to AC
+1 soak 5 damage


Strangely when wearing the robe of the dark moon I have AC 27 and with robe of the old order I have 25 but what is better less damage or haste ? Don't know if other stats are needed to answer this so here goes

Frost giant belt
Thayvian circlet (or whatever it is called exactly)
Amulet of the scarab+2
Cloak of fortification+2
Ring of protection +2
Ring of resistance +2
Boots of the sun soul +3
Gloves of the yellow rose +5

Stats with the items

18 str
14 dex
14 con
12 int
18 wis
10 cha

I would go with haste.
But that is just a personal preference, fast attacks should counter the damage you would take extra compared to the other rope.
If the monster goes down faster, you should take less damage overall. (maybe )

But I'd go with the haste. (especially if you are solo)

Haste hands down, that's the great thing about monks, they can wear haste robes and leave their feet empty for some of those great boots that are out there.

Besides +1 Soak 5 won't help you much after chapter 2.

So ehm how come the robe of haste dark moon thingy give more armor then the other robe ?

I'm not sure what you mean Priest, are you saying that when you put on the Robe of the Dark Moon, it's giving you more AC than a robe with +AC?

Yup the dark robe would give me AC 27 while the robe with +2 ac only gives me 25 so that was kinda strange

Maybe it's the Haste, maybe it's a bug, don't look a gift horse in the mouth I'd say.

If you look at the Haste spell, It gives you +4 AC, Faster movement, +1 attack, and 50% quicker spells, that explain the +4 AC

Starting Chapter 2 Neurik at the temple in Beorunas well should sell one, its also an amazing item for any sort of Rogue or Bard combinations especialy Fighter/Rouges or Rogue/Mages because AFAIK its the earliest source of haste you can buy and its cost is about 1/2 of the boots of haste which you can only buy in chapter 3

Found it! I have been to that temple so many times but never seen that robe, it doesn't look like a robe really. It is perfect for my monk/rogue. Thanks.
