i am planing to restart the game. i think i really need a cleric.

but i have a few questions first:
- what races do get different (from human) dialogues?
- does the class have any influence to the dialogue options?
- does wisdom affect dialogues?
- does str, dex and con affect dialogues?
- does your allignement (lawful, neutral, chaotic) affect dialogues?
- do you get different quests with different chars (races, class)?
- do you reach (or get close to) the xp cap at the end of the game? (6 players)
- are maces later in the game still (by far) the most common weapons?
- do you think this party lacks in melee power: fighter, monk, druid, cleric, rogue, sorceror?

different races do get different dialogues, sometimes, there are some different dialogues for classes, there are certain quests that are easier to complete if you have certain class in your party. Not sure about the other questions.

what races do get different (from human) dialogues?
All of'em.... although to a limited extent.
does the class have any influence to the dialogue options?
Yes.
does wisdom affect dialogues?
Not that I've seen. Intelligence, OTOH, does.... have at least a 15 int.
does str, dex and con affect dialogues?
No, apart from one 'quest' that requires 16 con.
does your allignement (lawful, neutral, chaotic) affect dialogues?
Yes, but only in relation to your class.... paladins have 'good' extra dialogues, monks have 'lawful' extra dialogues, etc.
do you get different quests with different chars (races, class)?
Yes. But only in a -very- minor way. I've found very minor things that can only be done by: bard, sorceror, cleric, monk, fighter, paladin (the sole exception, paladins have a significant paladin-only bit).
do you reach (or get close to) the xp cap at the end of the game? (6 players)
Not nearly.
are maces later in the game still (by far) the most common weapons?
No -- but I never found them that common at all.
do you think this party lacks in melee power: fighter, monk, druid, cleric, rogue, sorceror?
A little. Multi in some fighter to the cleric and druid and put a level of paladin on the fighter, IMO.

What Cjdevito said, except that I've given a druid two levels as a fighter (so far), and he makes an excellent second tank alongside a fighter.

thanks, maybe i will replace the druid with a paladin (leader, aasimar: 12 str, 8 dex, 12 con, 16 int, 16 wis, 16 charisma [not a strong fighter but he should be able to talk and i will add all future ability points into str]). On the other hand, i am also thinking about a drow rogue as leader or even an aasimar bard.
more questions:
- would you take spell focus for a cleric, like evocation (meteor swarm)?
- are my partymembers also affected from the malus i should get from spell focus if i use spells with area damage?
- how capable is a bard in melee combat?

just to let you know, i restarted the game. this is my party:
aasimar cleric of lathander (leader) (8 str, 6 dex, 8 con, 18 int, 20 wis, 20 cha)
aasimar paladin of helm (18, 13, 18, 3, 16, 12)
gold dwarf fighter (18, 14, 20, 3, 18, 3)
human druid (16, 10, 16, 12, 18, 4)
tiefling rogue (8, 20, 18, 20, 10, 2)
wild elf sorcerer (6, 14, 14, 14, 10, 18)
i won't dual the cleric and the sorceror. i will add two levels of fighter to the druid later. the rogue will get one level as a ranger and the fighter will become a barbarian after 4 levels. i don't know if i dual the paladin yet. hope it won't be too hard later in the game with only two good fighters. are the druids shape changes any good later in the game?

Dire bear and dire panther are -excellent-. The lower level forms (including the optional ones) are pretty decent. The elemental forms are somewhat underpowered, at least compared to the dire bear and dire panther.
