I've been playing BG2 for a while now, rebuilding an Invoker that I lost. Unfortunately, there seems to be a REALLY REALLY frusterating bug or something making it hard to play without having to reboot every now and then.
It seems that sometimes (not always) when I use the map (M shortcut key), to look at the area I'm in, the game will FREEZE. I cant even ctrl/alt/delete, I have to hit the reset button on the HD. This is really annoying, I'm wondering if this is new or old or what? I cant find any news to see if there is a patch coming out to fix this either, I have the latest patch, but blah..
I dont have ToB either.

Never heard about it. Try to reassign the map to another key in BG config.
