Impotent Aarin?

Somebody mentioned before that a female could have a romance with Aarin Gend. My girl has never been given that chance. I finished the game and never saw a single glimpse of passion in his attitude (even then I used a suggestive dialog option such as "I would like to talk about something else" several times). This James Bond seems to be absolutely immune to my chick's sex appeal. Did anybody really succeed in seducing him? How was it? I guess I missed something somewhere.
I wonder if it is possible to romance Dealan or Tommi (the obnoxious gnome claims to be a ladies man). I bet nobody could tolerate him for more than one chapter though. But just imagine the dialogues! A romance with the grim monk could be funny too. Deadly passions, sadism, dark secrets...

*chuckles* Tomi is a halfing :) , and there may be a problem with the Aarin romance. He seems to be a little messed up in the head, because every time my male elf talks to him I get something like "Its a pleasure to speak to a woman as attractive as you"

Gnome, halfling, who really cares? They are both shopping in a petite section, aren't they? If you know what I mean. :D

So, apparently Aarin has a little problem with his sexual orientation. He called my gal "he" once or twice.

Aarin is totally in love with my elven wizard! :p

Lucky you. Did you have any patch installed at that time?

@Rheomyr, the difference is the fact that the gnomes look like monkeys in NWN, the halfings just look like children :) . But seriously create a gnome pc just for chuckles then look where his hands are in comparison to his knees when hes standing normally. His wrists are even with his knees! The poor little guys look like chimps.

Yeah, gnomes don’t look particularly magnificent in any game, that’s why I never play gnome character. But I meant something quite different when I mentioned gnomes and halflings size. Let us say, I did not mean the shoe department. ;)
Anyway, I still think it could be funny to have a romance with Tomi the HALFLING or Grimgaw.

I've downloaded only the first patch. The end of the game sucks because you can't go back to Neverwinter after you kill Morag. I would've loved to see what Aarin would've said to my character.

I have played unpatched, maybe that was the reason I missed the thing. Still, I thing there should have been more options for a female. In BG2 there was only Anomen to flirt with as well (I really enjoyed the moment he gallantly invited my female paladin to spend some private time with him in the bushes). :D Discrimination!!!

I heard that the amulet Aarin gives to a female character in Port Last disappears in the next chapter without the patches. There are at least two quests in NWN that a female character can't get. That's discrimination!

It might be your race, too. It's doubtful he'd romance a gnome, halfling, dwarf, etc...

I played a human female fighter (level 16)-rogue (level 4), a cute dark-skinned one, as far as a race is concerned. Aarin should have loved that one.

My character was an elven wizard and Aarin told that his previous lover was an elf too.

Has anyone considered opening the module up in the Toolset and checking Aarin's conversation? That would remove all doubt...

I did checked out Aarin conversations (ch3) in the Toolset.
Looks like he might have some "feelings" towards any female, but the "relationship" will not fully develop (according to the conversation tree) unless the female is "intellegent" enough to inspire Aarin.

Compare:

Bachelorette #1 - "Me want talk at you, Aarin. 'Bout this amulet you give me."
Bachelorette #2 - "I would like to talk to you, Aarin. About this amulet you gave me."

Outcome:

#1 has no chance to become Mrs. Gend.

***Tell about the benefits of education!***

So, "It is good to see you again, my love -- though I am sorry if my face does not reflect it."
Indeed. :)

You mean I can't go back? but he promised...

I have a half-elven cleric, and Aarin was definitely all up-ons after I listened to his Calli story.

No need to bump a 2 year old topic, especially when adding nothing to it.
