What's the Verdict

Hi there, I'm just wondering how IWD2 compares to BG2. I've tried the original IWD and found I have a hard time getting into it because of the lack of NPC interactions and story choices. I really liked BG2 (haven't tried the original yet) because of the number of choices you could make (subplots, good vs evil, etc.) and the NPC interactions. I'm thinking about getting IWD2 but would like to know wether it's just more hack and slash or more like the Baldurs Gate games!
Thanks

Hack and slash.
There's a little bit of role-playing, but not much. The story is also a lot thinner than BG2 but more solid than IWD. The point of the game is to kill lots of monsters and collect lots of stuff. If you want more than that, you'll have to settle for BG2 and Torment.

I´m playing BG2 solo as a sorcerer. It´s pretty much killing and collecting stuff to get money and I must say that running from place to place only to talk to a person to get to talk to another person etc. is ANNOYING! When I use dragon breath on a group of spiders I get this evil grin to my face. LOOK AT THOSE SPIDERS FLY!!! I think that ID2 will be a great game after playing BG,BG2 and ID...not a lot of one but a mixture of them ALL! I´m still waiting my copy and when I get it: SOLO GAME AS A FIGHTER/SORCERER!

You must not be playing properly, or you are very much confused, take your pic

After finishing BG2 3 times it hardly interests me to go and talk to persons when I can experience the true power of character development by sending a few spider flyíng through the air.
