Ok.....just saw something that made me go HMMMM last evening. My 13 Dwarf Fighter was able to cast Burning Hands on the brazier for the summoning of Belial, without the use of the Burning Hand's wand that used to be Karlet's. He used a scroll!! Is this a common thing for instances in which a particular spell is required? I.E. Eltoora's Lab items.....

AFAIK, as long as you can perform the required action (ie. cast a certain spell) then it doesn't really matter what the source is. You could cast the spell from a provided wand, from memory, a scroll, etc. and the script should still be triggered.

You used a special scroll that can only be found in that dungeon. It's a plot scroll that anyone can use. It's not strange or a bug.

thanks Yuusuke, come to think of it I thought it funny, because it did not stack with the other Burning hands that I had. Good catch. So will he not be able to make any of the item in Eltoora's Lab?

He can make at least ONE item that I know of in the lab, which is the Staff of Power. Use the components and cast Fireball from a special fire opal.
You can find these through out the game, I think there are only 2 or 3 in the entire game, but by the end of Chapter 2 you should have 1 at your disposal, so you can use that to make the Staff of Power from the Tome of Fire. The problem is you can't use the staff as a fighter once you've made it. Aw well, at least it sells for some pretty good dough.
It really doesn't matter, since most of the items that can be made are either, a) of little or no use to a fighter, or b) something that can be acquired through other means, like the Ring of Resistance (?resistence?). I dunno.
