Problem with Sola's soundset

Post by serjeLeBlade »

I just met the "romanceable" Sola npc for the first time, and I have some questions about his... voice.

First of all, is this character supposed to have a soundset?
I mean, selcetion/activation voice-acted lines, comments about location (dungeon/forest/city/whatever), other lines about being tired/wounded/bored....

The only line I got from him so far is the "I do what I must when I must" when you click on him. (Is is the only activation line he has?)

Oh, and he says it in Italian.
Even if I selected american-english language when I installed the mod.

Thanks to anyone willing to help...

'I do what I must' etc is the only thing he says...gets slightly annoying but there's not really much that could be done about it I suppose seeing the mod was created in someone's spare time with a budget of probably zero.

My above post wasn't strictly accurate...Sola also says 'This is not over! Another day!' when he makes a critical miss and something along the lines of 'for the glory of the Fighters' Guild!' as a war cry. You also occasionally get text only lines to no-one in particular which say 'I have seen no-one'. No idea what that's about.

I used NearInfinity to set his ExportFlag to 1.
Thus I could choose one of the PC soundset for Sola!!!

I wrote it to Wes, don't know if he actully took the idea from me,
but now Sola can be customized by default!
So no problem, just choose one of the three PC sets! :D
(in italian, I suppose... :D )

Thanks... Glad to know that I'm not bugged, at least... !

(Now I suddenly realized why the Sola mod is so fast to download, compared to Kelsey...)

edit:
@Littiz: I guess I'll follow your advice.
And I guess that I have to thank you again for this :)

edit2: Hey, everybody is relplying while I write   :p

Don't know if this post will end up making any sense after all the editing

Unlike Kelsey, Solaufein doesn't have a full soundset, but unlike Kelsey, Solaufein is merely a 1 MB download as opposed to about 30 MB between Kelsey-SOA and Kelsey-TOB, so there are tradeoffs. :)

Wes has half-heartedly pursued getting Solaufein voiced but it hasn't panned out. And his core players don't seem to mind much, and he doesn't even play with a sound card, so... you want voice work, you have to look elsewhere. :)

@jcompton: are you planning to release a "light" version of Kelsey-TOB, anyway? ;)

Thinking about it. But the ratio of SOA Full-to-Light downloads is about 10:1 which tells me that even WITH the choice, most people will just choose to download the full version anyway.

And quite frankly, my voice work for TOB is better than it was in SOA, and I'm just that much more resolved to make you hear it. :)
