linux question

ok, please forgive me, I'm a complete newbie at linux, it's my rommate's computer that I use for games. I'm wondering if anyone has tried to run Icewind Dale II using linux. I understand that there is some question over compatability of video drivers, but I can run Baldurs Gate II fine with WineX, and since IWDII uses the Infinity Engine... ? I can't find any info on the official IWDII forums, just a lot of linux hostility.
