monk chamber #8/spoiler requested

i am having a rough go at chamber #8. i am running a cleric, wizard, monk, ranger, thief, and fighter, all approx lvl12. my cleric was rocking right through all of the challenges and doing great summoning crits for help and standing back. now, though, before he can summon undead, those two monks are whapping him to death in 2-3 blows. should the initial volley be survived, the flame strikes are more than enough. none of my summons have yet to even touch thos flaming monks. i have been playing the same room for awhile now, and have tried every character but the thief. they all die so quick it is not funny. only the monk has scored a hit (1) before he died a depressing death between the furious blows and flame strikes. HELP!!!!! i am becoming very frustrated!

i did it with my cleric this way:
1. cast divine shell
2. hope you have a high concentration skill
3. cast animate dead (you can also cast sanctuary first and run as far away from the monks as possible)
4. run away, one of the monks should now attack your skeleton or whatever.
5. cast animate dead again and run away
6. first skeleton is possibly dead by now but if you are lucky both monks attack your summoning now. (maybe you have to retry a few times

)
7. keep animating deads
8. heal yourself
9. summon whatever you can
10. cast divine shell again if you need
11. cast ice blade and attack

If you're mage has improved invisibility (I don't know if it is possible to get the scroll this early in the game) just cast it and beat the monks to death with the club in the room, or your fists. It takes a while but you can get is cast before the monks reach you. Once improved invis you won't be targeted by the monks or the flamestrikes.
