improving pathfinding?

I thought I read somewhere that you can improve the pathfinding in the game by changing the Path Search Nodes or something like either in the INI file or the config. Is this possible? I'm tired of my guys taking the scenic route.

If you open the Icewind Dale II configuration proram you will find the search path nodes under the performance section. I couldn't say how well it works tough, I've never really tested it out.

Even with the max search nodes activated the pathfinding is appaling. Worse than the first BG.

Noooo...haven't got the game yet but that pathfinding was one of the main reasons I don't replay BG1 so much.

The pathfinding is absolutely horrid; I have a higher-end machine and am using the maximum search nodes, and I still have people going the wrong way and getting lost. My only advice is to use lots of waypoints.

I don't think its fair to say the pathfinding is worse than Baldur's Gate. Sure its bad, but common, BG was rediculous. Not to say IWDII is very good or anything, but theres no way its worse than in BG.
