Theif Quest Help

I was asked to find a demen tanto in the mage guild in Ald runn while they are gone. I have looted them of most treasures but cant find the tanto. There is a locked lev 100 Closet i think it may be in but cant open the lock. How do i get it.

*spoiler*
If you enter the mage guild, go to the right, go down the stairs, then turn right, there you should find an alcove/room with out door, on a shelf is a small chest thats locked. The tanto is in there.

Its amazing to me how well you know this game, Tybaltus. You should write a strategy guide. My hat's off to you.

I wouldnt say that I know enough to write a strategy guide.
Ive just been through the game quite a few times and witnessed some one else go through the game a couple times after I went through it. Things have stuck in my memory and I just try to use that knowledge to help out the board. But I have done or witnessed about every quest in the game with only a few exceptions, AFAIK.
