I have tried various strategy's to defeat Xvim to no avail. I'd appreciate a little assistance with this battle. My party consists of a paladin, fighter, rogue, druid, priest, and wizard.

Xvim? Did you say Xvim?
I don't know how to help you there, but the name sounds familiar. Oh yes, last time I gated a pit fiend in and just in the middle of the spell casting an orc shaman dispelled the protection evil from my party.. Out came a very angry cornugon then, who, in his part, casted again a GATE spell.. and out came a Slayer Knight of Xvim!
I play heart of fury mode and my level 18 party was a bunch of five dwarven barbarians with 400 hitpoints each, and a cleric who had several mass-heals and plenty of heals at hand... and we got chomped up so badly...
This beasty did six attacks at 56 damage each per round, and also critical hits which made the dwarves go wheeeee ....
I hope I don't find ANY of these knights later on during the game.

There are bunches of em at Severed Hand. I'm having probs with Xvim too. I can only get him to being Hurt. He sees invisible and most offensive spells don't do much to him.

Only encountered one and that was enough for me. Managed to get through after about 5 tries.
I needed to buff up my three tanks with potions of giant strength. Used arrows +5, arrows of piercing to great effect when he was at range for 2-3 attacks. The it was chop, chop, chop. My tanks left everyone else alone, concentrating only on Xvim. I had to trust my thief, mage and cleric to keep everyone else occupied.
Holy Word out of my cleric did wonders for freezing the rest of the enemy melee types.
Acid storms, fireballs out of my mage helped neutralize enemy spellcasters.
And of course the trusty 'Summon Undead'.

I just realized.....
that I could pause during combat and chose what each character will do on any given round. This is funny as i've been doing my spell and such in real time and that was a pain. I do feel kinda dumb right now. For some reason I had it in my head that if I paused that I wouldn't be able to chose any items for use. Things are much easier.

Where's the holy water?
Ok Xvim is down pummeled under a rain of Fists from several Earth Elementals and the ceremony is completed. My journal says I have aquired a vial of Holy Water and yet no such thing is listed with any of my characters. Where is it? No item was gained by the party........

Your lead character should have recieved a potion to fix the magic pool on level 3 after the battle.
