Icewind Dale 2 question

Having played the BG series and thouroughly enjoying it, and played the original Icewind Dale and finding it boring due to constant hack n slash (I eventually came to the point where I couldn't be bothered to play it) I was wondering whether Icewind Dale 2 is a worthwhile investment. I've played Neverwinter Nights and enjoyed that, I particularly liked the 3rd edition rules, in which makes me interested in IWD2. I don't mind the graphics or the so called "horrible path finding". But is it worth me splashing £30 on?
Please feel free to vouch your opinions someone.

I have played all the BG series as well and can tell you that Icewind Dale II is worth playing. It probably won't grip you as much as BG games but it comes very close and is a very well made game, I am thoroughly enjoying it. By the way, I haven't played the original IWD but I am probably going to buy it. When playing it you can't compare it to BG because it is a dungeon crawl which stresses character development, so just enjoy it for what it is and I am sure you can get some fun out of it.

Thanks Eriks, that's just the responce I wanted!! However does anyone else have any other views or opinions?
I think I probably will get the game now unless there's something really unappealing about the game that I mightn't like.

- Like IWD1 it´s still focused on Hack&Slay and Char Development
+ It has the 3E Rules and SubRaces, which are really great.
Ever wanted to play a Drow ??
+ It has slightly more Quests and StoryLine than the original IWD.
Pathfinding is still a horror. People start walking directly opposite to your commands
I don´t mind the Graphics, it´s suitable.

oh and before you buy it you should know you create your entire party from the start, you still have a main characte or "leader" but its not like in BG where you can pick up NPCs.

Yeah I was aware of creating your entire party, though NPC's should've been implimented into the game. It would give it more flavour and appeal...not that I mind creating my entire party it's just I miss the banter from BG n Neverwinter Nights...if I do buy it I think I will add ppl like Edwin and Minsc etc into my party just for the hell of it hehe.

If you want to put in the effort you can use their voice sets and portraits and things. I think I am going to do that second time I play through the game.
