Help with misc quest plz

I've run into a couple of characters, namely Synette Jeline and Tavynu Tedran, north of Gnisis. Synette asks me to find her ring in a pond nearby, but I've looked all over and didn't find anything, I even tried Detect Enchant Potion, but that didn't work either. Does anyone know where the ring is? *FYI I think she's offering sexual intercourse in return for my favor

Also Tavynu seems like a unique character *wears a very good Chameleon amulet* but he won't talk to me! Would I destroy some quest if I just kill him?

Yeah the rings in the pond. You gotta look hard. Its not magical, thats why the detect thing doesnt work. I remember it being in basically open view, but sort of close to the seaweed. Im sorry that Im not precise, but this is a hard quest to describe location. This quest ranks as one of the top 25 most annoying quests in my opinion because the ring is so blasted hard to see.
Im not sure what could alleviate the problem. Try searching in the day, cause youll never find it without luck at night.
As far as the person with chameleon, yes if you attack him, they both attack you, and therefor the quest is ruined.

its right under the seeweed...jeez i hated that one, but after i beat their asses I had a pretty little chameleon ammy that later helped me rob a few people blind....its just an excuse to fight, i beat em at lvl 1 with a couple heal potions, theyre not hard.
