The Lurker Thread

Lurkers Unite! :eek: :D

I don't know if Spam Bandits have ever been discussed here - if they haven't, shame on you :mad: ;) - but it's high time I confess: I am a shameless Lurker and subversive Spam Bandit. :(

Yes, it is true. I've actually been around GB for a very long time - so long, in fact, that my initial account went inactive as I went about my merry way, spamming other message boards. :eek:

When I returned, I had to rejoin, and I've been lurking ever since then...heh heh heh......occasionally emerging now and then as I give in to my uncontrollable urge to Spam. *sigh* :p I have the post count to prove it. :D

This might belong in the Spam thread below (it is, after all, Spam ;) ), but I wanted to send forth a rallying cry to all Lurkers out there...come clean! Reveal thyselves! Art thou Invisibly stalking SYM? Well, post here then, you scallywags, and either repent of your ways, or swell your chest in pride at being a Lurker! Now is the time! :D

I lurked for about six months before joining. Then I joined and posted sporadically at the bg 1 and 2 forums. Then i found sym in september of last year. my post count went up a little.

I have never been a lurker on any forum I have joined at any time. :D

Thank you, Lurkers, for coming clean at last. :D

@Ned: I would say your post count increased, by at least a little. ;)

Lurker?

I actually started out helping Bucksatan with his news posts.. was actually consistant for a couple weeks.... then I found my way over to SYM (and lost internet activity at home, limiting my time online to at work) and became addicted. Joined admitiatly and began spamming profusly.

Also I have recently recovered hidden documents I believe one so called "Evil Tyrant" has tried to hide. The document reads...

I, Weasel, hearby swear justice and loyalty to all that is Jeff Gordon and his Rainbow Warriors.

I swear its true.

Wouldn't this thread be a contradiction in itself? :D

Not if the number of views exceeded the number of replies ;)

I started out in the IWD forum at the beginning of May last year. I then moved over to the SoA and BG forums, amassing something like 400 posts before finding SYM by accident in the June :D

Now look at the post count :rolleyes: *back into lurk mode - this post will self destruct in five minutes*

I registered 12/2000 - and didn't start posting until last summer, and still don't have a high post count...

i am a proud lurker, with an adverage post count of .41 posts per day! (hmm, its gone up, used to be about .3, then went up to .38) i started out in the BG2 forum, then found sym in the downtime between games :)

Anyway, since we're all gathering together in a thread, maybe we should discuss doing something about BS, the supposed 'Lord of Lurkers' with his 7522 posts.

I took me about 5 minutes to make my first post in SYM, upon entry to SYM, and I seem to have kept up the pace 3 1/2 months later. :D :cool:

@Vicsun:

I am humbled. Your post count belies your true nature: you reign supreme. :D

Vote for Vicsun, true Lord of the Lurkers!

@Aegis:
Wouldn't this thread be a contradiction in itself?

I guess I could ask you the same thing. :D :p but whats the crime in SPAMming? I think its great to be social. :D :cool:

I lurked on BGII for about 6 months - too busy playing the game to post. Then my helpful nature got the best of me and I began responding to posts where newbies needed help.

About two months ago I discovered SYM and post almost exclusively on flame, religion, politics threads - somebody has to help HLD stand up for the good old USA! ;)

I have a weakness for sports type threads as well.

All in all I am 90% lurker, 10% poster, and 0% spammer - until this post at least - now I am 1% spammer! :D

LOL! Actually, I have deleted a great number of my own posts...I suppose I would be close to 550 or so had I left those up. :o Er...they needed to go. ;)

Spam? A crime? Oh no - if that were the case, all of SYM would be posting from prison, Ty. :p ;) Spam is...well, Spam really could be...hey! When you get right down to it, Spam just comes so naturally, you're not even aware of when you're doing it. :D :cool:

One thing Lurkers and Post Counters have in common: they're both shameless Spammers. Here's an idea: I'll form the "United Lurkers Liberation Front" :D , and you can start a therapy group called "Post Counters Anonymous." ;) Weasel can be your first chapter president. :D
