Selling potions isn't scrap money. With a high alchemy skill each potion i worth at least a 100 gp. If you buy ingredients for like a thousand potions, you level like 30 times with alchemy and you get several hundred thousand in gold, and it's better to have gold in many small stuff, cause you can sell them easily. plus sometimes the levitation potion weights 0.
