Photo Competition

Is anyone interested in having an SYM photo competition? This is not because I have suspiciously come into posession of any priceless photography, but I think maybe it would be fun if everyone takes a photo and attaches it as an entry and then we can figure out a judge and give the winner...a big hug or something. Let your mad photographic skillz be recognized for their true value...Photos of yourself I guess will be accepted, but only if they are taken by you aswell

I think about a month should be sufficient to find or take a good photo...and I think that only one photo should be allowed per person...but if a lot of people are interested then maybe we could do Best B&W and Best Colour or Best Portarit and Best Landscape etc....
Anyway, if some more people express interest then we can discuss conditions then, but my tentative suggestion is:
One Photo Per Photographer
Entries in before 30th October

I do chemistry homework. Thats about as scary as I get on my own time. Im serious.
That is if you dont consider watching sports or 80's music videos to be scary.

Good idea...
...may I suggest though, that you open a new thread, solely for the pics.
...then have the thread linked to this thread, just in case it gets too far down and out of the 1st page.

Will there be different categories (ie-nature, places, people, nudes, etc.)? Will the photos be judged on their artistic merit or by people's favourites?

Nudes are artsy. As long as Weasel isn't actually in any of the pictures, no one's monitor should burn out.

As you know nudity is one of my 'likes', but nudity in a contest is a different thing. It's not as much about appreciation of nakedness as judging, and should one judge another human being on such superficial merits?
Edit: What do you think of my new avatar? I shrunk it, but it seemed to lose all it's clarity, but the board wouldn't take anything larger than 50 pixels...

I was thinking of artsy nude photos not porn nude photos.
I'm depraved on account of being deprived.
I liked the old avatar better (I fear change), but I'm hardly one to speak, having just changed my avater after close to a year with the old one.

Excellent! I am glad people are interested
I think that people should post nudes if they want, but be careful - I am all for it, but if Buck think's that it's innapropriate, then you will get banned - That's the way it is....
Upon careful consideration, I think that we should only have two categories, B&W and Colour, and that means either one or two entries from each photographer. I think that broader classes will result in too few entries in each - So what do you think?
