Do you know if they'll have those walking trees(I always forget their name
) in the two towers or will they leave them out just as they left Tom Bombadill out? They are quite essential and I would love to see theyr graphics
BTW nice av

Oh yes indeed, the Ents are definitely going to be in there. Check out the trailer again. At 2:31 there is a clip of Merry getting scooped up by an Ent (presumably Treebeard). You only see the feet and arm, but it’s unquestionably an Ent.

It is indeed an Ent, I wish they would have shown more but at least it leaves something for the premiare

An earlier trailer shows Treebeard’s eyes (and not much else). Similarly Gollum’s scenes in this trailer are very quick and fairly blurry (he’s always jumping around in them) so we never get a good look at his face. I agree that they’re saving the dramatic close-ups for the big screen release.

I suppose it is for the best *sigh* but it leaves you wanting more several months before the release *double sigh*

At least the expanded Fellowship DVD will be out before too long (November).

I downloaded it yesterday.
It *is* much better then the first one that was released, but it seems that they have kind of "hollywoodized" it, with all the love intrigue between Aragorn and Arwen. But, hey, I'm not one of the fanatics who demanded blood that the first movie was a little off (it was really close to the book, imo).
A little off or different....hey, change is good. And its shaping up to be better then the first, and I'm one of the ones who LOVED the first...
EDIT: Also, this makes me want to see it even more...I was already going to see it opening day, but this is going to make me dress up to see it.
Wonder what character I should go as...

As I work at a movie theater I see the trailer every day I work, which would include several hours today. I saw many many times today. The movie looks very good. I was very impressed with the movie and thought it captured the feel of the book and left out what needed to be left out to make the movie a good one. Much better than that stupid harry potter movie, which I see the trailer to every day too.

The Two Towers might be easier to capture on film, as it is more of a transition...I also think it is more action orienented, and I did enjoy the battle scenes in LotR.
@Mah:
I am hoping the filmmakers were able to capture the growing relationship between Legolas and Gimli that the orcish head count represented. It would be fun to watch.

I'm hoping for that, too...

...though it's water under the bridge, I sure wished they started the development that involved Gimli's admiration and respect for Galadriel.

Yes, I see that water going downstream now.
Galadriel, in the story, was quite beyond most of the characters in the book, except perhaps for Gandalf (who as we know was very low-key, and disguised his power). Even Elrond was a schoolboy compared to her.

The Legolas/Gimli friendship was something I greatly missed from the Fellowship. Hopefully they’ve just pushed it back at bit in order to give it more focus (rather than jam it into an already packed Fellowship). For example, Narsil’s re-forging has been pushed back to RoTK in order to give it the proper time to appreciate the event. From what I’ve heard, TTT will indeed feature the orc killing contest at Helm’s Deep between Legolas and Gimli and other moments that show their burgeoning friendship.

Cool, Kayless! ...Though I don´t think this is gonna make you very popular, LOTR´s reputation is not very good in SYM.
