What does it do? Its circularly mentioned that it increases with levels, but what exactly does it do for your party?? Skald gives attack damages, Imp does major goodness, Jester is confusion, but what does the plain ol bard song do?

The most correct answer available is "nobody knows" I guess, and I'm not joking.
I like to play bards and I asked that question myself before!
Try a search if you like to get bored and frustrated

If I c“remeber corrctly it increases all saving throws with one in bg1. It would be locigal that it does the same in Bg2 with a level factor in it. Not sure about that though

Only by you and your followers User.
Edit: @ your sig User.
Their not just cute like everybody supposes
They've got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses
and whats with all the carrots, what do they need such good eyesight for anyways?
Bunnies, Bunnies, it must be bunnies.
Or maybe midgets....
Anyways, I only know that cuz I'm directing a stage version of the Buffy Musical. Pretty fun really.

it claims that the skald is the only Bard that sings a song that helps his allies so I don't think that it would help it's allies. every single bard has a different bard song (and they call the normal bard's song the standard one?). I thought that it decreased enemies AC and a few other stats a little bit.
Edit: wait a minute it's the Jester's song that doesn't help it's allies, so that means that the normal bard's song does help it's allies in some way... well that song is what the Blade's song does to I guess. does anyone know what the blade's song does? ask this question on Bioware's forums.

Hehe, oh user, some things never change hmm??
I've refined my errant ways.
Why don't you come on down to the SYM forums? Fable occasionally harrasses me about my old name. On his good days, when he can remember things.

The bard song is supposed to improve luck. This means all roles should be +1 while the bard is singing. The level improvement I beleive was an extra +1 for every ten levels. So a 11th level Bard should convey +2 to all roles. The Blades song doesn't improve, so he will always give a +1 bonus.
I say should as when I have played a Bard I didn't notice any difference for the rest of the party when he was playing his song. But I still love Bard's and still play thier song when he isn't busy with something else.

I wish they would put in a nice tune in the bard song. Like troubled waters or yesterday. Now that would have been neat, I would have taken Hear'Dhalis all the time
