I was going to solo a fighter-dualed-to-druid through the series but to my surprise it's absolutely NO fun! I dualed my fighter to druid when he was lvl 6. So now he's a lvl 2 druid and I can choose two kind of enemies: the ones that are too powerful and the ones that are too boring!
The powerful ones I just can't beat; my druid just doesn't have any of the necessary spells or fighting skills.
So I decided to stick to hobgoblins and wolves and the like for a while but I can't believe how boring that is. My druid has a problem landing ANY blow. And he doesn't get hit a lot either 'cause he's got the HP of a lvl 6 fighter and he's wearing ankheg-armor.
So whenever he meets an ogrillon or something it takes a few minutes... not to get a kill but even to get a hit! They just stand there, missing eachother again and again and again. It's embarrassing!
Any ideas to improve the situation? This is my first attempt at soloing.

I don't remember either... I think I understood the whole THAC0 thing... once...
Anyway, I haven't installed gatekeeper or shadowkeeper and programs like that. The temptation of taking the easy way out by cheating would be overwhelming...
I would like to know however, is there anyone who's soloed a druid through the series? Especially BG1, because the kits and the highlevel spells in BG2 would make SoA a bit easier...

To clarify, Thaco is To Hit Armour Class 0.
It's the dice roll that you need to hit a char with a zero AC. Thus, if you mage say has thaco 18, you have to role that. However, if you target has an AC of say, 10, your mage only needs to role and 8 or higher to hit him.
As for your question, low level druids have the same thaco as clerics, so you shouldnt have a lot of trouble hitting things. You mention using a bow, if your dex is low, you'll hit nothing. I suggest grabbing a club and smashing stuff.

and b) an easy way to get exp, is get a hold of a bunch of magic scrolls, and join up with a mage who can read them. I don't know if it works this way in BG1, but in BG2 you get x thousand exp per scroll, where x is the level of spell in the scroll.
So if you ahold of 3 or 4 level 3 spells, read them, you gain 12000 or so exp, divided by 2 cuz of your 2 man party, but hey, 6grands a lot.

You don't get experience for memorizing scrolls in BG1. (Nor for finding traps or picking locks, if you're a thief.)
One thing you can try is to get hold of the Dagger of Venom. It can be purchased from Thunderhammer Smithy in Beregost. It is a +2 dagger so it will increase your chance of hitting and will do poison damage after you hit if the enemy fails to save. Just make sure you have proficiency in small swords.
Also, you should do all of the non-combat (or low combat) quests so that you can raise your experience without putting yourself in danger. Things like talking Marl out of a fight in Feldpost's Inn, returning commander Brage to the temple, saving the Dryad's tree, returning Drienne's dead cat, etc. can all be done with little or no risk.
I am not particularly fond of Druids so I can't give specific advice but I just recently soloed a Bard which is also a weak character. It can be done, but whether or not you enjoy it is a matter of preference...
4 int? How can he possibly carry on a conversation? Most animals have intelligence between 2 and 4. Haha.
NWN includes if you have int below 9 you dont talk very well.
I wasnt aware of that, so, ya, your only choice is to do non combat quests, you should level up pretty fast solo, and once your fighter abilities reactivate, itll get easier.

In RL my int is 4 as well, enough to become a highschool teacher. Actually I'm the smartest one in the school, they're thinking about making me principal.
