You all know, nothing can beat the third italian voice set
for a female PC... sweetest female voice ever

Nonetheless User made me curious, so I was wondering, are there
somewhere available to download the original PC sound sets?
Maybe for use with another game as IWD2..
I'd really want to try those, thus turning my game to a more english
version (I already changed the dialog file! :p )

Thanx Mikael, but those are for BG2, not from it... :(
Anyone knows of a site where actually there are Bg2 sounds sets, maybe for use with another game?

Hi.

You can use NearInfinity to get any soundfiles from any IE game, easy as goblin pie really ;) .

Iirc, in the BG2 readme, there's a list that tells which sound is to be named to what, so it's just a matter of listening through the wavs and constructing a soundset by renaming the the wav files. Took me about 10 mins to make a soundset for my BG protagonist from an IWD2 soundset.

Btw, even tho you can listen to the wavs with NearInfinity, there's a plugin for WinAmp 2.x that allows you to listen .acm soundfiles with WA.

Near Infinity
ACM Plugin for WinAmp, search for "acm"

Edit: Links and spelling. Probably missed something too, ask if you don't understand :)

Oh, didn't see that. Well, if you don't find what you are looking for, e-mail me and I can send you the files you need. I have to install BG2 again anyway to get Korgan's soundset for my IWD2 dwarf. Should have it installed by the w/e.

Cheers.

That'd be really kind of you!
But I can't ask that much, they're around 5 MB...
Maybe just one male and one female sets, the best ones of course...

(on the other hand, I'm also becoming curious about the NPC's original
voices.. maybe I should just go out and buy the game again in english  )

It's not a problem really. I have about 40 megs of free space at my website, I have to see how big the soundsets will be compressed. I'll get back to you tomorrow, or sunday at latest.

Cheers.

Not a problem really.

However, there's more work than I though there'd be. The PC filenames are bit funny, so I have to find out which file belongs to what soundset. (Never used but one soundset and some custom ones)

I'll post here when I have something.

Ok, uploaded the PC soundsets, they're about 3 megs all together.

Gonna upload Korgan for IWD2 too once I get it done, and perhaps Imoen as well. Check back later if intrested.

Cheers.
