Does anybody know if Kivan's voice set can be fished out somewhere and assigned to a SoA pc?

Try the Game Audio Player. Let it search NPCSound.bif and all those soundsets come up. Export to .wav format, rename them according to the BG2 ReadMe and dump them in your Sounds folder and you're ready to go.

Where am I supposed to search?
On my hard disc?
(Note that I haven't BG1 installed and I have no room to install it)
:(

Again, some sillybard-proof guidelines about what to do after getting there would be welcome...

Don't worry about insulting my intelligence, that's no easy task to accomplish ;)

For some reason, the link brings me nowhere. At present I'm haplessly wandering around planetbaldurgate site...
No signs of soundsets... :(

Thanks from the effort anyway, I'll keep searching...

Try this link. http://www.planetbaldursgate.com/

It will get you to the right starting point. I'll look around for the sound sets. maybe get back to you with specific link.

getting closer

Okay...this link will get to the adventurers guild.

http://www.planetbaldursgate.com/xode/

Then click on "the Chest" then go to sounds. That's all the further I can take you cause if I tried to insert sound sets I'm quite certain the results would be disastrous.

Ok I almost got there
Looks like my pc doesn't want to go to that page, no matter if I use your links or Uncle's or if I type it by hand...
Network problems, server problems, dns problems, who knows...
I got the concept anyway, thanks to you all.
Will try to connect from another pc tonight!

bad links

That's odd...they work for me.

try going to http://www.gamespy.com

then go to RPG (left sidebar)
then go to Baldurs Gate (right sidebar)
then Baldurs Gate (left sidebar)
then Media
then Files

and so on and so on. If you can't find it from there, turn off your computer and go get a better handle on your Abacus before you get ahead of yourself ;)

Oh my! THIS worked, in the end! (The instructions, not the abacus) ;)

Anyway, to win the prize for the "most flawless set of sillybard-proof guidelines for downloanding something", you should have added some three or four more steps instead of that undetailed and somewhat scary "and on and on".
I've been very very close to give up and go for the abacus after the third attempt to download from those weird servers! :p

(But what's that? A joke? There's one of these that doesn't work at all imho)...

Anyway, I'm done now. Thanks to everyone again !
:D :D :D
