Rangers & free feats

Ok, I know probably a lot of people have asked this or they just "get it" but for some reason when I build my characters and I build my ranger I get the ability to CHOOSE ambidexterity and two-weapon fighting. Now, if it only comes into effect with light or no armor, that makes sense since I want to be able to get it if I decide to go heavier. If I do happen to choose it in my feats and still wear light armor, does it give me some sort of extra bonus?

Nope. No extra bonus.

You just get the same effects as TWF and Ambidex while in light armor. As you realized you don´t get the feats. You can pick them, if you want to go dualing in heavier armor.
