Argyle Vote

Alright guys. This is in response to the previous topic that is now a sticky: All Argyle Players Read!

I'm starting a poll/vote, and the question is this:

SHOULD WE WAIT FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD OF ARGYLE TO BE COMPLETE BEFORE WE BEGIN PLAYING OUR BANSHEE CHARACTERS?

There are reasons for saying either "yes" or "no." I'll start with "no," because it's kinda obvious. It's prolly going to be awhile before all the Argyle areas are up and running. Would we really want to wait that long to play our Banshee characters?

However, here's something to consider as to answering "yes." If we decide to go ahead and begin playing Banshee characters with the opening of Soberdan, there might be a large concentration of Banshee characters in Soberdan. This seems a bit unrealistic to me, first because the premise was always that the majority of Banshees would begin seperated from one another and have to meet up while searching Argyle for answers. Secondly, the unhopsitable environment of Soberdan seems an unlikely place for the descendents of an organization as noble as the Academy of the Blades to come together.

So, with that being said, jump in and contribute your thoughts on the matter. You don't have to say "yes" or "no" yet, seeing as we don't really have enough information on the topic. Just give your input, as I've done above. I'll see if I can get Rhino to stop by and give his opinions as well.

A good question Avg :) I'd answer it with one of my own: how many Blades are planning on playing in Argyle? And of those, how many were planning on starting their characters in or around Soberdan? It's more than possible that if there was, say, 3 Blades who were going to start in Soberdan that we could begin to accomodate those people, and it would be fine. 23 Blades would perhaps be another story :)

Edit: I see that there is already a sticky on the forum here for this very question. Stupid Rhino!

Even though i would like to start playing my BotB character as soon as possible, i wouldn't mind to wait until all Argyle is up. I am having great fun with different chars on the test server and maybe even when Sorberdan will go live there is still the option of playing an alternative character a just a different character until AO is completed.

Anyway i will go with any decision, as guild, we make.

I say no. People should start their characther when and where they like :)

I am not sure wether or not my Banshee character will be ther first started - and I am not sure he wants to start in Soberdan.

But Soberdan is a good place for many people to start seeing it is one of the more tolerant places in Argyle - so many people running from something or on a quest of discovery would/could come to Soberdan.

And just becuase they start in the same town, doesn't mean they will meet up from day 1.
We are roleplayers after all and would proberly like to "evolve" our story of Banshee as much as possible :)

Obviously, I do plan on playing in Argyle, but I wasn't certain about playing in Soberdan with my BotB character. However, I didn't really want to wait until the whole continent was set up (I was thinking of starting in Port Hope or Hemdale, 2 of the less popular places, it seems), so I'll probably submit a rewritten bio with a starting locale in Soberdan. Much of it depends upon what some of the other BotB characters will do. I already have met some of them in my background and want to do the majority of my playing (with this character) with them.
