dual-class cleric

I am planning on dualclassing my imported(from bg1) 9th lvl ranger into cleric. I was wondering if I am allowed to use edged weapons when he reaches 10th lvl as cleric, or he just is allowed to use "clubs"?

If that is the cause I'll just restart the game and give my ranger some clubbing skills instead of longsword and such.

Once you dual to cleric you can only use cleric weapons. I believe this includes flails, maces, hammers, quarterstaves, morningstars and slings. No more swords, daggers or bows, in other words.

He will only be able to use blunt weapons after dualclassing. I would reccomend you take *** in 2 weapon style, ** in war hammer, and ** in flail. Then take anything else you want.

GR: He is starting out a ranger and already has 2 pips in 2 Weap Style

My advice would be *** 2 Weap Style, ** War Hammers, ** Mace, ** Quaterstaff while a Ranger

Then when you dual * Fail, * Sling since the FoA is the best cleric weapon for the early part of the game during the long haul to 10th level. You may want to invest in a pip in Clubs, Sword & Shield, or even Two Handed Weap since you'll lose your pip if you put into something the ranger already knows

The scroll bit is primarily for dual Wizards. As a cleric your god gives you your spells, and those green scrolls are memorizable like the mage scrolls.

Of course it can still help a lot to dismiss all but your wizard, then start reading scrolls. A heavy trap area (after you've cleared the other thief guild) can also give you and a thief some rediculous xps.

Please keep in mind that if you dismiss your romantic interest, it will end any chance you have with them once they rejoin the group.

I just want to say 1 thing.
Playing with a Ranger/Cleric is absolutly great.
a nice trick to play with is iron skin/ blade barrier/sanctuarie it almost kills every thing u see without getting one hit.

my ranger/cleric just eats golems for breakfast and they're not even his racial enemy, vampires are.
It is just great to be able to cast all the Cleric and Druid spells in cluding Summon Fire Elemental, Iron Skin and Nature's Beauthy.
combined with Cleric spells Blade Barrier and Righteous Magic, Iron Skins becomes more powerfull.
U get more hitpoints people can't hit u and get much damage.

My ranger/cleric is ad his exp cap.
and has arround 150 hitpoints
*** in dual weild and
** in warhamer/flail/mace and
* in club.
so u get a lot of weapon slots.
U should really go for Warhamer/Flail/Dual Weild. Notthing can't stand my Char weilding The Flail of Ages combined with Crom Feayr.

Oonce u played Ranger/Cleric u never want to go back :D :D

Hey, if you're importing from BG I to BG II, even better you get the option of choosing a ranger kit. I would go with stalker or archer and either dual at level 9 or dual at the end of BG II before TOB. That would make the ranger dualled to cleric even more powerful--imagine getting triple backstab or imagine getting special slingshots. One more thing--those two dual classes are so powerful that they have been banned in TOB--the creation of that is. If you can develop one of these dual classes BEFORE you install TOB then you'll have the dual class which no one else has....

Excuse me, I wonder if this problem happens to you all. Only pure rangers are allowed to dual-class on my system. I'm confused, I've heard many stalker/cleric or beastmaster/cleric combinations. Please help. Thanks.

I think if you have ToB installed only Beastmaster and regular ranger can dual to cleric. With just SoA, however, all ranger kits can dual.

This was discussed on another thread. Look here
