IIRC, the shaft is in planar prison(warden), and the blade is in Sahuagin City if you side with the King. I'm not sure what it does though, its like something about fire.

Forged in antiquity by a cult devoted to the goddess Umberlee, this

unfortunately the Wave had been lost ever since.

if you dont have item upgrade, its the best weapon against fire elementals, which populate a few areas in tob...

It's certainly no mistake to specialize in halberds if you also invest in two handed weapon style. There are some very good halberds in the game, like Wave, Dragon's Breath, dragonslayer halberd (whatsitsname) and of course Ravager (ToB, +6 and vorpal

). Wave even kills an elemental prince of fire with one hit. Powergamers will probably prefer two handed swords over halberds, but you will get through the game with halberds as well.
And of course halberds look great.

IMHO teh ravanger is better than any two ahnded sword in the game. What is really powerful is to use a good two handed sword and ravanger as the situations demands. Then you're one mean killing machine

here's a better idea... side with prince for +2000 XP and then after you beat the king DESTROY THE PRINCE, he has the halbred part on him. it's a great win-win situation for you... of course they have no one to lead their people but hey it's the fun and evil way (and this one really pays off)

It can even be considered
good as you kill the
evil prince of an
evil underwater race so that their
evil forces wont plague the
good world with their
evil scales again for a
good time

daa!!! I don't like doing good things in BG2, but it's true that everyone there is evil, use detect evil and everyone shows up, so if you do it the king's way then you do more evil, I did that last time, and lets see soon after that I got to let the drow sacrifice the silver dragon eggs to the demon, and other evil acts... hee hee hee. Being Evil is fun in BG2, trust me.
that halbred though when assembled can kill fire elements in one hit since it drains the water from their bodies instantly (but wouldn't that be more logical on a water element? well water elements are only in TOB and not SOA I guess...)
Edit: opps I quoted the wrong person
there fixed

I suppose that teh wave drains teh little water left in teh fire elemenatls and this casues them to die our of drying. Or maybe the wave uses teh water it drained previously to put teh fire out

yeah that's probably why, that halbred isn't that good though since there aren't that many fire elements in the game (there's like none left in the game until the few in TOB once you get the halbred assembled)
too bad it doesn't work those fire giants, then guys like the boss one would fall easily. (not saying the boss's name since it would be a spoiler.)

Killing the prince or the king is just a question of ethic moral, methinks. I usually side with the prince, mainly because the king is just too much of an @rse to let live.
@user: What is better for slaying fire elementals in the item upgrade, then?
Halberds is IMO one of the coolest weapon types, spears are cool too, just too underpowered. Anyone knows if the IU makes better spears?

in item upgrade, you can make the elemental staff of mastery, a +4 weapon, that kills any elementals instantly!!!
poof!!! waaaa!!!!
and the staff summons a greater air, fire and earth elemental once a day...cool item...
jae, you should try item upgrade, the new celestial fury +5 is such a cool weapon, and is perfect with dual sandokky-okky-dokky, the acid katana....

if you dont mind my newbieness what whats the upgraded celestual fury? can you upgrade it in tob, or is that a mod?

its a wes mod, so its gotta be good, right???
download, and read the readme...its a fun mod, and quite frankly, unless you are using bun bun, its almost mandatory to install item upgrade mod to have a chance at beating sola mod....
one of the items it upgrades is celestial fury....
the only defect with celestial fury imho, has been the fact its only a sucky +3 weapon, gotta love the stun effect, and you had to switch to a different weapon to hit tob bosses...the mod simply makes celestial fury into a +5 weapon, and now it seriously rocks....
the mod takes a lot of junky items you normally toss cause the power is nothing like what you need to face sola mod or tob, and makes a bunch of really good items....

User, I have the IU, just haven“t used it that much yet. Some of the items in the readme sounds cool though, always liked celestial fury. What acid katana, again?

You can also pick the Prince's pocket if you want to avoid killing him...

jae, remember the kurosian feller who wants celestial fury???
he has sanndoku, which is best sword in game, with incredibly fast regen and acid revenge, which makes you almost immune to spells....
