Barbarian scout???

One of my char. will be a human barb 18/18/18/10/10/2 and I would like him to be a scout, so I need to raise Hide and Move silently skills. With his stats he gains 3 skill points*lvl, would that be enough to have the two skill effective (they are cross class skills)? Eventually a couple of lvl of thief are enough to improve'em to an effective lvl?

Hide and Move Silently don't need to be put through the roof to be effective. Just be sure to either wear light armor, or take it off when scouting and you should be fine; your high dextarity will also help. I had a Monk as my scout and he was my primary scout by the time he was only level 5, he had an intelligance of 8, which penalized his skill points, but still became an amazing scout.
