I was just wondering whether there are any particularily good mods for BG2 (and compatible with ToB preferebly). I've heard scattered praise for various ones, but I'm looking for any mods that "can't be missed". Any suggetions?

I would definitely recommend the 'Ascension' mod for ToB and the improved fights that accompany it. Check the BG Crossroads thread at the top for the link.
Also, if you haven't installed it already, get the latest Baldurdash fixpack for SoA and ToB. It's amazing how many bugs and glitches it squashes...

How about The Darkest Day? Is that compatible with ToB?

Get Ascension DEFINITELY.
TDD, a long time ago when I was visiting their site they said they were going to make it compatible with ToB, but I do not know if they actually did. It seems the best by most/quality content. But they made that first dungeon, way too hard.

I think I heard not long ago that TDD is now compatable with ToB. but I don't have the speed to get it without sorely taxing my patience

Sola romance and tactics by wes. They make the game more challenging at places.

I've never heard great things about TDD. As far as I have understood, it's
quantity more than quality.
If you want new NPCs with a deep background or interactions, go for
Tashia, or Kelsey.
If you want improvement in the battles, definetely grab the Ascension package,
and the Tactical package (or something like that) from Weimer.

From personal preference, I tend to go that way, and both of these mods (as well as the Sola mod) are excellent in this respect. I'm also looking forward to the Return to Windspear mod, which promises to be very heavy on roleplaying--but is nowhere near finished.

Imo, Tashia is the best female romance mod for BGII. I played with her a couple of times and found her dialogue fun to respond to.

Tashia, Solafein, and Kelsey are all unusually well-written. I think kudos are deserved by all parties involved in their creation.
Now, if we could just find some way to fund a company that uses the Infinity Engine to create a new game...Hell, I'd even get involved in the writing end.

Great idea! I would buy such a game. Long live the Infinity Engine!

I'd be very interested in new and well developed npc's. The new npc's were by far the nicest thing about DSotSC, although they were seriously overpowered.

Could anyone who is in-the-know on mods please post some links to those mods recommended above?
I'm most interested in Tashia and Kelsey; I belive I found Solafein's site but I can't find it back and others may not have either.
What is the most current version of Baldurdash? I downloaded "Heroux-Baldurdash-v1.0.2" is this standard and current?
I would like to try a few mods. Is it possible to play with several installed at once? Do any of them greatly unbalance the game?
Thank you all for your patience and help.

Did you check in the very first sticky thread in this forum, the BG Reference Crossroads, for your links?

Sorry @fable, I had been there before when unsure of what I was seeking; when I knew what I wanted, I couldn't find it! I was frustrated, but its all good now ('cept for TDD from fileplanet, still trying
) Thanks again!
