Today,I use it to kill the silver dragon.
First cast Shapechange. Then cast Time stop,
change to mind flayer,5 hits killed the dragon. The dragon seems to have a clever brain. It seems every hit will success,no mater how low your thac0 is.

Yeah, Mind Flayer drains 5 INT per hit, and seems always to hit...kinda cheesy the tactic, though...

I mean in time stop mode ,it always hit, no need to make attack rolls. But in normal conditions, mind flayer has 14 thac0 and 4 attacks per round.

Yeah, just that! What will they do in ToB? I mean, Shapechange+Timestop+Sequencer is overkill, they'll probably remove or downgrade some spells...

we'll there is only so many 9th lv spells you can memorize, if the game does a propper job of making resting as rare as it should be...

or of course if there is more than one target this tactic will only take out one.

since i've only cast time stop twice, is that a bug that you can always hit - or is it because they're frozen ?

If I was doing the AI for TOB I would add a couples lines to the script for the important enemy spellcasters with CheckStatLT(less than what its supposed to be,INT) , if their INT dropped it would trigger a contingency spell of protection from Magic weapons(protects from int drain), of course this would only last four rounds so then I would add another couple lines to check for someone in Mindflayer form and take appropriate action against them. Of course Bioware cannot take the time to guard against every possibility, so i will probably come out with some improved AI fixes for TOB as well...

I sort of wonder about what could challenge a spellcaster in ToB too. But they're apparently planning to have wild and null magic areas, adding some very challenging monsters for spellcasters (magic golem), and as improving the enemy AI with regards to mages, so spellcasters will probably have some tough situations even with the level 9 (and above) spells.
